For unknown reasons, a few years back I planted hostas, one on each side of the steps. Why in the world did I choose two separate varieties? Clearly one is flourishing. I have one thin and one chubby. I like the chubby one in this instance.  

Looks fantastic. Come do my porch.

I love it! DP, you did a great job. 😍 When I started painting our porch, I was on my way to painting myself into a corner! Joe finished up and of course had never been in that situation. Your home is beautiful! I should post a photo of my completed porch. 🤔  

What a pretty porch, I love the black and white. I like all your windows too, it looks like a lovely home. I've never had much luck doing symmetrical plantings, one side always seems to do better than the other.

Great job with the painting! I know how tough of a job that can be. Coincidentally, of all the things I could comment on, my eyes were drawn to the hostas - slugs apparently don't exist past Montana or you wouldn't have hostas in the first place.  

Thanks, everyone. I really did not want red. I wanted all black and white but I also had to buy a refrigerator and I didn't want to spend another dime so I'm using my red chairs. I may get different cushions at some point or even see what it looks like with just a pillow case on them for cheap. I ran out of time and energy to do anything else. 

Chris - just woke up and your message reminded me that I was dreaming of you. I was pushing someone in a wheelchair and you were talking into an old answering machine leaving a message because I couldn't get to the phone. It was something about David wanting you to call (that's how I know it was a dream). Lol. And I finally found the machine and picked up the phone. I can't remember what was said. Probably gave me the winning lottery numbers. 😲😀 

It all looks amazing! Red brick can be hard to match or find a complimentary color. The black looks classic and contemporary at the same time, if that makes sense.
