Did my 5 miles on the bridge...helped pops by bringing in plenty of firewood and had pizza for dinner...yes folks...PIZZA. I have not had pizza since Sept 26 (yes I know the exact day) and I missed it a lot at first, but then I was okay. But I decided I just had to have some tonight... of course I'm not ordering pizza hut...I made mine own crustless...the toppings are the best part anyway!!! I used mushrooms as a base and just added in the topping I like...broiled it a bit and yumyumyum.... Of course mine is high in fat, but you can make it lower in fat...the main thing was to get rid of the sugars and grains (check and check).

OH that looks so Yummy. I'm going to pretend I didn't just look at this picture because I'll start wanting to make my own healthy pizza and take it way too far and end up blowing my diet completely out of this planet. I'll be so glad to get back to the south next month so I can be in my own place again and warm up to my fireplace. I miss the smell of it and that warm ,down home feeling. Awesome job on the exercising, cooking, helping. Your journal entry sounds so cozy and relaxing.

@Wayne..it was super yummy...I ate half of it and I'm stuffed with cheesey, pepperoni goodness. @Skinny girl...unless you are doing a very specific diet (foods/menus are already planned out for you) then there is NO reason you can have some homemade pizza...I understand the control issue but I think the fact that you want to lose weight should help you. I made a decision last night to have pizza and planned for it today by eating a reasonable brunch and snack and exercising. Plus almost anything you make at home is WAAAAYYY healthier than from a box or restaurant. Sure my pizza is full of fat (which I want...ketogenic diet), but it is also chocked full of natural stuff..veggies, uncured meats, decent quality cheese. The pizza sauce I used has a tiny bit of sugar, but I could've taken 15 mins and made my own sauce if I wanted (alas I was feeling super tired). Plus I made a small size...you could just use a large portabello as a base an put topping on it...personal sized pizza. And yeah I couldn't handle the North or Middle right now...BRRRRRRR

@Smartini585, I'm basically doing the HCG diet without taking the drops or injections. I'm staying under 500 calories per day with no sugar or carbs and I try to avoid as much sodium as possible. I'm mainly eating organic veggies, fruits with lower sugar content, soy milk, black coffee, tea. When I want a chocolate indulgence, I use soy milk, Hershey's cocoa powder and one packet of equal. Mix it all up and let it semi-freeze.....voila---chocolate milk shake.....30 to 70 calories depending on which soymilk you use and how much you use.

@Skinny...the HCG diet has a very specific lists of foods (only 31 allowed) and the drops/injections are very important to the diet (read the original protocol Pounds and Inches). I would not advise doing just a VLCD (very low cal diet)...the HCG took away most of the hunger pains and did make it easier (I've done low cal before and it has been a nightmare). Trust me chica you can eat 1000-1500 cals a day , exercise, and still lose a fair amount of weight in a short period of time. Also be careful with soy...I used to use it a lot and found out most of it is GM...so now I use Almond milk (if I use any at all). Just be happy and healthy and the rest will come :)

That pizza looks sooo good!! I may have to make one soon. And @ skinny, Suz is right, those very low calorie diets are not a good thing. She's right on eating a higher calorie diet, lower carb, higher fat and exercise will make you lose the weight just as fast, but much healthier and more permanent! I stay away from the soy because of the GMO's too, and just found a local farmer that has dairy cows!!! I have to see if I can barter with him to get some fresh milk each month!! He even has a few goats!! Have a great day Smartin!!! Keep up that great work!!

@pumakitten, I can't have dairy. Mainly because I'm lactose intolerant, but also vegan. I'm looking into the HGC diet. It seems to produce remarkable results. Once I get to where I want to be, I can maintain it on Raw Vegan eating.

@ skinny, I didn't know that you were vegan. I'm lactose intolerant to of a sort, I don't know what I would do if I gave up my cheese!! I love the almond milk too. I like it better than the soy. I like to use it every now and again to make a nice low cal smoothie, or some sherbet. I can understand the HGC diet may be a little more vegan friendly. There isn't much out there for alternatives.

Not trying to be a food Nazi, but watch out on soy. Soy milk is extremely dangerous- messes with both male and female hormones. There's a lot of research out about it. Almond milk is the absolute best choice, I started drinking it about 3 months ago and I love it :)

I love your Pizza ingredients!!! Good job!! Stabilization bites the big one sometimes but at the same time I enjoy finding healthy ways to make the BAD foods, lol!!
