SOOO...I think I got a job today :) I had an interview and was told later that I should be hearing from HR soon with an offer. It is for a Programs Coordinator position at the Hollings Cancer Center - Medical University of South Carolina (well know teaching hospital/school). I would be in charge of clinical studies for head and neck. So that means working with patients, drug companies, doctors, medical boards, and ethic boards. The pay isn't exactly what I thought it would be , but there is talk about it getting raised next year and there is always opportunity for upward mobility. But what I like most about the job is that I get to help people with cancer!!!!!! My mother passed away from leukemia three years ago and was part of a clinical study....unfortunately it didn't work for her, but I met several people that were successful....people that would've died without the clinical study. So I feel this job will give me the chance to work with cancer patients and help save lives. You guys are the first to know...I haven't even posted it on FB.
I feel like God has given me this opportunity to help me (I always felt guilty I couldn't do more for my mother) get over my issues and to help other people. It is something I believe in so I know I will be successful. I don't really have a clinical background, but I have done research at a graduate level, plus I"m a quick learner and I have the experience of being on the other side as a family member...so I can empathize.

I"m a bit nervous and hope everything works out...I'm not hired yet...I will let you know more after I get an official offer. All these months and NOT even an interview....and I finally get an interview for a position I didn't think I was qualified for and boom..they want me. Everything happens for a reason.
