Is breakup weight loss the same as you got sick weight loss? Does it come running back the second you look at a bread stick? Asking for a friend.

I have accomplished working out every day this week, eating reasonably well (there were two cookies), and behaving like a lunatic. I even lost some weight but I think that's thanks to all my lettuce eating attempts that ended with me crying into my food. I also gave up watching all cooking related tv on food network because it reminded me too much of the past. I mean Guys Grocery Games is amazing but it probably wasn't helping me to not want to eat. Oh and this morning while trying to set up a new email account on my iPhone I got a text from the ex and somehow managed to delete everything about him. I mean EVERYTHING. No contact, no contact pic, every message, every photo, everything is gone. I suppose this is the universes gift to me?? This makes it absolutely impossible to look back on conversations. Relive the breakup texts again and again. Oh and with no pics I guess my memory of him will fade? I didn't even know it was possible to delete so much without trying! Maybe there is someone somewhere looking out for my best interest.

This weekend we are supposed to get a snow storm. Saturday I should be too busy to think because I have so many errands to get done before the snow hits that night. Sunday I will probably have to put the house back together. I'm thinking about painting things and cleaning things out. Like my closet. Do I really need a closet stuffed full of clothes I claim I will wear if I just lost weight? Maybe I should box those up by size and put them in storage. At least then when I get to that size I could pull them all out and realize all of them are now out of style. Also I have become a way better annoying friend to people who I let slowly drift away. I now bug them randomly with odd texts like "the dryer just ate my workout pants". So far none of them have disowned me.

Sounds like the clean up and clean out has begun. You can do this and be in a healthy place. ❤

How interesting all the stuff on your ex just disappeared from your contact list. Good riddance. Moving on and forward. You will wear those clothes again ... because that is the person you want to be again. I would box up the bigger clothes as you slim down.

Boxing the clothes sounds like a good idea. It will be a surprise when you open them to see if they fit again.

Well, I think the universe is telling you you are better rid of the ex. And if breakup weight loss is from crying into your food and not eating it, it WILL come back, but if it's from cleaning out your closet and rearranging your house, that should stick!

Agreed! Box up the past and send it packing! The only way! FYI I’ve found that even easier than a yard sale or boxing is giving to Goodwill or other charitable organizations. It’s a simple way to get clothing and other household goods out of sight ASAP. Badabing! AND, keep a list of what was given for itemized deductions at tax time! Surprised at what was allowed as deduction!

https://www.psychologytoday.com/ca/blog/smart-people-don-t-diet/201602/the-divorce-diet Hi DFW It's a thing - I found it was temporary, but it was good while it lasted cause it gave me a boost mentally to be able to fit into some clothes I was saving for "when I lost weight" . Glad to hear all the ex's stuff has been zapped- that will help you move on a bit quicker if you don't have that to look back at and torture yourself with. You are going to be a busy gal- even more so than you are now if that is possible! It was a daunting time but at the same time I was happy that I could choose how I wanted my story to go. Hold on tight and be the best version of you - you are strong!! Remember that HUGS

The end of a relationship is very hard but it does put you in the position of eventually meeting someone who appreciates the wonderful, funny person you are. I have a major addiction to the food network, call it my food porn.

I’m sort of guessing that this “EX” is not the father of your kids. If that is the case— you are so lucky, You can both move on to lives that are more conducive to happiness.

I think you're doing great. I wish my iphone could get the instant lobotomy like that...

Box those clothes up! I can't tell you how many times I've given clothes away (bigger and smaller sizes) and then had to buy new again. This can be a very expensive way to go, believe me. I think maybe the universe did you a favor by deleting all of the stuff from your ex, looking at all of that stuff over and over again wouldn't help. I know it's hard, and I know the memories will always be there, but it really sounds like you've got this. As for the breakup weight loss, I hate to say it, but in most cases it comes back unless you have a lot of will power and discipline. We're all pulling for you.

LOL! I wish I had had humor in the face of adversity. I was horrible and realized people started avoiding me like the plague! I didn’t regain my 70 lb break-up weight until a year later when a Cadillac decided to use my Ford Escort as her breaks, head on. My foot and ankle were crushed and miraculously put back together by a South African Dr in Baltimore. After 1 1/2 year recovery, all my weight had found it’s way back. Extreme misery has always been my best diet ally, just not one I enjoy. 😳

look into the lifestyle of a plan by Dr. Oz... It is called the 12/12 plan. you eat during a 12 hour period and fast for 12 hrs. Need to read the article. you can lose lb a week. 52 pounds per year.
