Happy happy Friday...got the positive energy and the endorphins flowing...
I noticed yesterday..that taking a rest day is nice...but takes all day to wake up..and at end of day I’m so tired...wonder why...I hate taking days off..even though I know I need to..but just feel so drained that day...this morning..when I woke up...I was ready to ride on zwift...but once I started riding..just put it in same gear...and did my ride...
17.53 miles...87 min ride..335 elevation...381 in calories...
I seen a cool saying on bicycle.com...was gonna put it in fs..but pic was to big..so here is the link... https://hips.hearstapps.com/hmg-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/images/bicycling-quotes16-1564420932.jpg? crop=1xw:1xh;center,top&resize=480:*

When I did daily rides for two months, I felt no need for rest days. During this time I provided plenty of proteins for the body to use for ongoing repair. Before I knew about the importance of proteins for muscle wellness, I had a very big need for rest days. If I wake up in the morning, feeling a bit sore, I just tell myself that I went under required need for proteins yesterday. I like this simple discovery. Feeling sore is no fun. Also like that the voice of my body speaks louder than "should-do's" from other people. Now I like to make dinner as a protein meal, just to ensure I wake up with good muscle wellness. I also feel that after rest days, it is a bit harder to get on. Normally fixed with one ride, so it's not a biggie. You got a good ride in as a rest day cleanse 🙂

I normally ride on a 18-19 hour fast...i usually use water and electrolytes to keep me from cramping...once i get done with the ride..then its green tea and protein shake and breakfast....i no longer get sore..even when i do a workout with lots of elevation...but ive noticed that since i ride in recovery mode when i ride..i recover faster...

Yup, Recovery rides are as important as rest days Mike if fatigue or performance adaptation requires it. Hope your weekend goes well!!

18 hours fasting before a ride. That's made an impression. Pretty hard core training you're doing. Did that for awhile after seeing reports on that it boost our ability to use our own body fat for fuel.
'Ride in recovery mode'... Didn't quite understand that... Btw, you've made me more aware of the benefits of rest days. Keep it in focus now.

I sent you a fs email to try and explain recovery mode diddlee....for me....riding while doing a fast..I feel better after my ride...then if I use the energy gels...I have sis energy gels..I have honey stinger gels..I have all kinds of energy stuff..most of it is sugar loaded energy gels...and since I try and keep my sugar lower....it’s a conflict with eating healthier...like everything after you buy..you learn...so...I need to find a cyclists around town that uses the stuff...and make him a deal...as for fasting and working out...it’s a natural high after the workout...and I’m usually on such a high..you would think I had a cup of coffee...lol...but you don’t have the sugar crash...
