Lost so far: 30.0 lb

Current Weight
180.0 lb
Performance: gaining 0.2 lb a week

Goal Weight
130.0 lb
Still to go: 50.0 lb
i'm a 26 year old idealistic woman living in louisiana in the field of education policy.

there must be something wrong with my brain chemistry because i don't get that endorphine high people talk about after exercise. however, i still try to get it in. i hired a personal trainer recently for ~10 sessions. we're working on weight lifting mostly, and i try to get in cardio once or twice a week as well. i'm hoping the weights will really help me feel strong and jumpstart my new efforts.

i think i've set a realistic goal for myself: go from my current 180 pounds size 14/16 body to a healthier 135 pounds size 8 body. however, it seems like i can't even just get to a 5 pound loss!! i get frustrated and then eat more, which obviously leads to a sick cycle...

but i'm trying to stay positive! today is a new day, and i'm excited for tomorrow's possibilities!! :)

Slow metabolism: Anyone have tips for speeding it up?
I know people are just built differently, but this drives me crazy:

I eat less and exercise more than my roommate, and yet she is much smaller than I am! It's obviously a metabolism thing. I know eating smaller meals throughout the day will increase your metabolism, but is there anything else I can do to give it a boost?

What is some really Great SKIN CARE ANY ONE PLEASE
It depends on your skin. If it's combo/dry, I would suggest my routine (in no particular order):
1) Always exfoliate. No need to be rough. Or expensive. The best scrub I've found is one I made with olive oil and sea salt. However, I hate trying to store it in the shower so now I just buy Origins.
2) Shea butter for all the roughest areas, like elbows and knees.
3) Grapeseed oil for everywhere else, including the face. It's got a natural astringent quality so it won't clog pores. And it's full of antioxidents that will keep your skin looking and feeling super supple.
4) For zits, a little bit of toothpaste overnight on the spot as soon as you feel it coming!
