This isn't an apply it on the surface skin care. However, if you add more healthy oils to your diet such as Extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, and all sorts of other cold-pressed (expeller-pressed) oils used without heating which destroys the nutrients, your skin grows soft and velvety from the inside out.

We have a paranoia on fats/oils, but our body needs them and when we are getting enough our skin isn't dry and flaky but soft and velvety.

I believe the estimate I heard was one TBSP per 50 lbs of body weight is a good guide. Interestingly, body builders eat huge amounts of oil to get rid of the fat in their muscles to look more "cut." Apparently out body doesn't turn them to fat but utilizes the oil to burn fat and meet our needs.

This is a little different and maybe not a classic moisturizer but I like witch hazel. Smile

Also you can put olive oil directly on your skin. I read that this old woman who lived to be 120 did that and she claimed it helped her stay youthful. A cream with collagen is also good.

Coconut oil is fabulous too, I forgot to mention that. Slightly sweet smell and feels really nice.

Hey Mountain Mamma,

Not that I want to discourage your advise, but if I read your post well, you just recommended me to take 5 tbsp of oil a day - at 70g of fat that is over the average healthy fat intake, just from the 5 tbsp's, so i am now a bit confused. Not to mention the 600 cals - all from fat..

Help?

Look up Murad online. The resurgence skin care line is absolutely amazing. I used the acne products when I was younger, and now I use resurgence. It's expensive, but totally worth it.

I use Bioelements, best product I've ever tried. I'm really dry so I use the crucial moisture Smile But their products are divided by the skin type you have and what you need.

Hi,
The best thing is aloe vera. Buy the leaf whole and slice an 1 inch piece careful not to let the outer leaf touch your face....just the goo from the inside. This will drench you with moisture and give you firming. You can wash off if too tight...but leave on as long as you can.

Jojoba oil or emu oil .... apply right after you get out of the shower or after you wash your face while your skin is a little damp.

I'm a guy and for the last few weeks I've been drinking 3L per day. My skin has become very soft and smooth. Perhaps the olive oil in my diet helps as well. I don't know, but it's a nice free side effect.

You don't need to spend money on chemicals. Do the job with water and eating health oils from the inside out.

Tyra Banks swears by Vaseline. It's too gloopy for me, but they make Vaseline Cream which is the best moisturizer I've ever had and it is cheap and unscented!

Vitamin D - 1000ius a day will improve skin, hair & nails along with other nutrients like fish oils, vit c, b vitamins. Take sugar & dairy out of your diet. You'll first see it get worse, as your body detoxes as it does during weight loss. It's all diet. I put nothing on my face & have good facial skin.
