Hello everyone, I'm a 45yr old young girl at heart. I started Atkins on 10/25/10 weighing in at 226. On 11/08/10 my two weeks on induction I weighed in at 215. It's a great feeling to know that I have taken control over my weight. There is still alot to learn but my family on the Atkins forum (Any other new people want to buddy up?) have taken me under their wing and they are a great group of people. As of 11/10/10 yes I couldn't wait for our Friday weigh in! I'm 214. My goal weight is 140, but if I could make it to 150 and feel as great or better than I feel at this moment I will be fine with that. I want to make healthy eating a part of my life not a quick fix weight loss. So I hope I meet more wonderful people on FS.

I was fine on weight until 2004 when I moved to Chicago temporary, didn't like the cold there and hibernated alot and comfort my depression with food.

Now I'm back in Tampa and want to see myself back in a bikini! yes I said bikini....

Well as I started my new endeavor I hope to hear about everyone's successes.

Carmen

Question About Calories
Have you read the new Atkins book its very helpful with all the new way of explaining what you can eat and what you can't eat, especially during the induction period. You have to up your fat and protein. try to keep your carb intake 20 or less for induction. I saw peanut butter your not suppose to have that in the induction period you could add that once you move to phase 2. Try looking at my menu and get an idea. except for Friday's lol I did bad on that day. But all together I started 3 weeks ago and have already loss 14 pds. I have a long way to go. go to the Atkins community web kink and take a look, you can even get the induction food list that you are allowed to eat. there are even great recipes that you can make to give yourself a varity of foods to enjoy. Keep it up you can do this. Try making your boiled eggs into a simple salad by adding some mayo and veggies to it. Stay away from all pasta, rice, bread, sugars (splenda is ok keep at 3 pkts the most p/day). You need at least 15-20 percent of veggies. no corn, peas or carrots.
