I'm 28 years old, I live in TX, and I have two kids who will be 2 and 4 years old this November (2010). I've been overweight my whole life, with one of my most recent weight lows being when I was married in 2005 and I was around 185. My most recent high was around 259 at the doctor's office and I was so repulsed that my weight keeps climbing that I knew it was time for a change. I'm sick of being overweight so I am finally motivated to get the weight off and hopefully keep it off. I decided to join Medifast as it seemed perfect for me. I'm hoping to get the weight off fast and learn how to keep it off with Medifast's support system.

How did you decide your ideal weight?
I set a few goals, but my lowest two goals are the weight I would be to be in the middle of the healthy BMI range (I think thats around 140-145) but before I get there I'm aiming for 157 which will be 100 pounds lost. I kind of want to be able to say that I lost 100 pounds (or more) and I'd like to keep it off. I know I'll feel really good around 175 but I've always wanted to get even lower than that too. 175 is the lowest I can remember being since I was a teenager.

Dinner menus and how I'm outnumbered!
I'm just trying to convince my husband that most of the time he'll have to cook his own dinner, since I usually just prepare mine. Unless he wants to just eat salad for dinner, there's only a couple nights a week where I make enough of something that we can all have it. I think eventually he'll miss the carbs but he turned down my offer to make rice or rolls last week! The kids aren't liking this change as much, the carbs were their favorite part! Sorry about not having any tips yet. I'm kind of in the same boat! So far one of my solutions is to prepare your meals in advance... so when dinner time comes around you just cook one meal and can grab your low carb one out of the fridge from earlier. You're still making two meals, but at least not at the same time.

Looking for a buddy needing to lose 40+ pounds! =)
I remember I tried pretty hard to lose 5 pounds before I got married, so after it was over I KNOW that I let myself go a little.. but at first it was just 10 pounds... then I got pregnant and it was all over. Oops. And to think I felt "fat" back then and now I think I'd be skinny at 180. I should have appreciated it more!

Looking for a buddy needing to lose 40+ pounds! =)
I have much more than 40 to lose! I can relate with the whole baby weight thing. I think when I was 9 months pregnant with my first son I was 245 and I lost about 20 within 2 weeks after he was born because of all of the fluid and whatnot that I lost. I gained it all back again before I got pregnant the second time. I was nearly 260 and my second child was 1.5 when I realized that I let this all get out of control. It was beyond the point of calling it baby weight. Here's to losing it and getting back to our former selves! My first weight goal is 180 also since thats what I was when I got married.
