I'm 38 years old working mom with 3 teenagers living in Manila, Philippines. I used to be very active but work stress has somehow affected my lifestyle in so many ways and before I knew it I have gained 20 pounds in the span of 2 years.

I'm not a stranger to being big. I had been overweight (168 lbs at 5'2") when I had my babies but I managed to lose that through proper diet and exercise and has kept it that way for 12 years. In most recent years however some of those weight has managed its way back.

My immediate goal is to regain my health. Among my goals is to complete a full marathon and I have completed half marathons before work (and my boss) swallowed me. I would like get back on training and regain my fitness level.

I joined fatsecret hoping to be inspired and motivated by people who shares same predicament and has overcame it.

i cannot get motivated
I read somewhere it will only take a month for the stomach to adjust around the amount we eat. If you stick to smaller portions for a month, the stomach will have shrunk and hence, you wouldn't feel as hungry as before.

Also, read that processed foods are engineered to trigger cravings for fat, sugar and salt. So, best stick to natural food. The more you stick to natural fresh foods the less the cravings and vice versa, the more you eat processed foods the more cravings.

Obviously, changing your habit takes time, consistency and persistence before you could see the benefit. So, don't give up!
