Just finished gaining back 18 lbs. after losing 15 on Atkins. It was real easy gaining them back +3 . . . and I sure don't want to do it again. I started Day 1 Detox today. I am freezing! I kind of like the 'cleansing" cocktail but not with the 2 TBs of ground flaxseed. I think tonight I will try eating the flaxseed first and finish up with the cocktail. I am sipping the drink warm. I think the idea of cleansing the liver is good. Hope this works. I feel like a diet flunky . . .also tried weight watchers. I think my biggest issues are lack of exercise and getting bored . . yeah! need to get a life.

Weighing after work out
Don't do it..weigh in the morning. At least that has been my experience my whole life. I weigh so much more in the evening than I do in the morning . . even with a workout . . or maybe even "especially" with a workout. Weigh at a consistent time to be good to yourself and have the best track record . . .good luck!

Everyone should read 'You:on a diet' and 'Natural Cures' and watch the Documentary 'Supersize me'
I totally agree with you on this. I think we are overprocessed, over supersized. . . .our animals and produce are given drugs/hormones or fertilizers to supersize them and then when we eat them we get the same supersizing drugs. It is very disgusting and I think the only way to get around it is to go back to the natural stuff. When I see a chicken breast that looks like it should fit on my chest not a chickens, I don't want it because I know it did not get that large naturally. I think our governement is not helping us by allowing these drugs and hormones into our food, so the farmers/growers get a bigger paycheck.

Over 50 with same 60 lbs
I am so happy to find all of you lovely over 45 ladies. I just turned 60 this year and am tired of yo-yoing . . and Diet buddies is something I have never tried!

I had a total knee replacement this year and was in a lot of pain the year before so exercise was not a part of my day. Plus, I work in at Home Depot and am on my feet most of the day so honetly, I felt I had put in my time by the end of the day. Anyway, packed on about 30 lbs.+. After surgery went on Atkins and lost 15 lbs. in about 6 weeks. Stayed on diet another 6 months. . .nothing else came off but didn't gain either. I still wanted to lose another 15-20 lbs. My whole family came up for my 60th and I decided I was not going to stay on diet while they were here . . . 5 days, and a 9 lb. gain. Another 9 lbs. to end of year . . .3 lbs more than when I started. So discouraged, but also almost outraged that I let this happen .. again.

So, at the moment I am very determined that this is the year this weight comes off and I can get dressed in the morning without having back spasms trying to zip up my jeans, and being happy about how I look when I face the mirror.

I know myself . . I m determined now but when I plateau and don't see results I get discouraged and tell myself this is a stupid diet and I am happier not being on it. This is when I really need buddies . . . someone who is also working her way through the tough times. So let's be there for those times. . . so how do I make you buddies?? and can I post to everyone or do I need to copy and paste this over and over???

Look forward to hearing from you.

That's a great tip. I'll keep it for those days when food is calling me all day long!
