I am a 57 year old Mother of 2 and grandmother of 2 beautiful girls and another on the way. Have been overweight since I can remember (although I have been told that I only weighed 5 lbs at birth). Really didn't put on my weight until after high school. Had lost down prior to marriage and then ballooned back up over the years. I have been on Weight Watchers in the past and know it works if you REALLY want it to. I honestly feel this time is different. For one, I have the support of my husband which has been lacking in the past ("You don't need to lose weight." "You're not fat." etc etc). Maybe it's the age thing catching up with both of us but really want to live healthier. Just hope I can stay on track until goal (and after)!

Getting to KNOW YOU, la la la laaa la laaa laaa
Hello, World! I am living in Vermont. Been here for almost 3 years moved from Virginia where I had lived all my life. Life is ALOT slower which is not a bad thing.

My FS name is a combination...NE for New England....MAW for the name by granddaughters call me (nice, huh? always wanted to be Grammie!)

Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend! Hopefully there will be less of each of us on Monday!

Affraid of weigh in
I have alot of cooking to do the next few days. Will have a house full of young people (mid-20's to toddler) who LOVE to eat! I am making all of their favorite foods and am really going to try and eat alot of vegetables and just tastes of the "bad" stuff. It will be a challenge, I know. I just don't want to foul up and then throw in the towel. That's the part that scares me! I think checking in on this site will help keep me on track and remind me that I'm not alone.Very Happy
Have a wonderful holiday!!

Prayers
Know that you are not alone. Heartache with a child is the worse kind; I know because I've lived it. You will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Over 50 with same 60 lbs
I'm 56. Was 203 at my highest (on 5'3"Wink so that's alot. Started WW in Sept and have lost 18.6 lbs (amazing how those "point" lbs count)! I, too, have promised myself I would lose wt since I was 49. Have been motivated up until today and am beginning to wane. Want to get down to 140....no real date in mind but would like to lose a total of 40# by Jan so I have so that's about 22 more lbs with the holidays in front of me (us). I remember my parents telling me to lose wt while I was young 'cause it's so much easier....and how! Wish I would have listened! Being over 50 and trying to lose is a real challenge. WE CAN DO IT!!!Very Happy
