Me... what do I have to say about me?

I just celebrated my one year anniversary in May to the most wonderful man on the face of the planet. I lead a hectic life which includes working full time on top of being a full time student and taking care of my hubby (not that it's not the other way around most of the time.)

I've been struggling with my weight since I was nine years old. I've been on every diet I could find since then fighting to gain control. My mother put me on the Adkins diet at 13 which allowed me to knock off over 60 pounds and put me at around 140lbs but it also made me develop hypoglycemia which is something else I battle now.

Over the next few years I struggled to keep the weight off but ended up gaining another 15 in high school and when I moved out and started dating Cyril I gained another 20lbs of "happy weight."

I told my family that Cy proposed on new years of '09. Seeing me slip further and further out of my healthy weight range my step dad offered me 500$ to lose 15lbs. Of course, high on the 'I want to be thin for my wedding' happiness I told him I'd lose twice that much and he doubled the reward.

So, a thousand dollars is some pretty hefty incentive! Knowing the Adkins was completely out of the question (it had already given my mother and I severe hypoglycemia) I decided to try the good old fashion 'counting calories.' Up until then I'd tried all the 'fad' diets. Adkins, Body for life, The blood type diet, the Skii diet ect... I figured, it couldn't hurt to do something so simple.

Determined as I was I started the next day (Jan 1) and dropped from my starting weight of 183 to 137 when I stopped on March 7th.

I got married three months later at a size 6, the smallest I'd ever been. Unfortunately eating anything you want for a whole year will make you gain back but it was soooo slow that I really didn't care much.

Now, I'm trying to toss those extra 20 pounds again without the incentive.
