Made a few updates (12/30/2013)... Here's my story:

I'm a 32 year old mother of 2 wonderful babies (right now 4 and 6). I've struggled with my weight my whole life. (i use the term struggled loosely since sometimes i just didn't care)

I've been as heavy as 233 lbs, and that was around 2001-2002. Around that time i had a health scare that prompted me to change things. I lost 25 lbs. I did well maintaining for a few years, till i got pregnant with my daughter.

After the birth of my first child, i found myself back at 227 lbs again. I started exercising again but it was difficult. Then came child #2... this time i decided NO MORE! After my son was born i committed to losing for real. I started slowly by just paying more attention to what i was eating (which is really all there is to it).. i was able to go from 227 to 196. I fluctuated between 183-194 for about a year or so. Finally I decided enough is enough. So April 2010, i began this leg of my journey.

I have a great support system, my amazing girlfriend, Liz... i'm a lucky girl to have so many people on my side...

UPDATE: 9/26/12

So after an interesting year up and down the scale (losing most of the time but slowly)... i decided to forget my mini goals for a while and kinda re-vamp my WOE. A month before my vacation on 9/21, i decided to go as hard as i could until my cruise... and i lost 20.6 lbs, actually getting to .6 lbs away from my goal weight for the year!...

So now that the vacation is over and i'm getting back on track i'm going to go back to hitting it hard and getting back to my goal weight for the year... my first official weigh in will be 9/28... and i'm excited to see how long it takes to get back to 165!

Update 12/30/2013 - Decided not to wait for New Year's Day (or Jan 2) to start my goal setting. My clothes will not allow it!

Goal for 2014 - to lose 29.6 as of today 12/30/2013
That will put me at 145, my lowest goal set ever.

Do you eat breakfast? How important is it?
honestly i tried both.. i used to eat breakfast religiously early on in my weight loss journey... but i would always get hungrier during the day and want snacks... now i pretty much eat when i'm hungry.. during the week i'm ok with a hot cup of green tea and make sure i'm hydrated.. if im hungry i will eat... usually not hungry till noon which is lunch time anyway. like one of the folks here said.. not all diets are one size fits all..

Heart Rate monitor question
@ jess i'm not sure if its from years of always underestimating out of fear and now seeing an actual number? or if something is wrong!.. i've always pushed hard... and i know its hard to calculate on these estimation calculators b/c i do a lot of intervals.. i don't know.. i guess i'll work with it!

Heart Rate monitor question
I just need some clarification!... i've based my exercise/calorie burn information on the estimates on generic calculators or using MFP/Fatsecret for a long time. I finally got a HRM and it seems to calculate my calories burned at a higher rate than any of my other calculators have estimated. I have always low-balled my exercise for fear of under performing and over estimating... should i go by my HRM which is based on what i'm actually doing?

Leaving Fat secret
i've been on both sites for a little bit now too... i have so much history here.. so its like home, but i'm logging on both so i can decide where i'd rather be... pros and cons to both.. but they do some unique stuff on MFP that i like.. still undecided..
