I'm a SAHM of 4. (25, 23, 20 and 18) Have one left in highschool. Happily married now for 26 years.Like crafty stuff and quilting. My favorite book series is Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. I was quite athletic as a teen but piled it on when having kids and stress issues through the years. My hubby and I saw the WSJ article http://online.wsj.com/news/art...
and decided to give Atkins a try. Nothing else had seemed to work. I've had a great first week and am excited to continue and see more progress. I want to be able to get back out and enjoy life again and wear normal sized clothes again ! LOL

Where is everyone from?
I'm an Army BRAT (FOR LIFE !). Have lived all over. Last 10 years have been here in Colorado (but for a total of 14 years) and before that lived on the Southeast side of Indianapolis for 15.5 years. Before that Hanau, West Germany. And it goes on and on.... lol.

40-50g Carb challenge
Somebody forgot to tell my body that and I'm glad it didn't hear it ! I KNOW I eat way more than 2000 calories a day but I am keeping my carbs below 30 (I actually upped it recently from 20) and I'm still losing. Go figure ! Every "body" is different. Sorry if this post is inappropriate to this particular forum. I was responding more to Bill than the forum heading. Oops

Eliminating Sugar - Where do you draw the line?
It really made a difference for me too ! But I struggled letting go of the soda. I transitioned by making slushies at home. I cut my soda intake by about a third without really trying. A glass full of shaved ice doesn't leave much room for the soda and was just as satisfying for me. I was making them in big 7-11 size cups several times a day. I lost 12 pounds that year without knowing it doing this ! It was a wonderful surprise to see at the doctor's office and made the doc happy too !

Can I change my entry weight?
Weigh in as often as you feel comfortable with. I weigh in in the evening cause it will give me a good idea where my weight will be when I weigh in in the morning.

You can go back and correct/edit your weigh-ins. Click on the "My Fat Secret" tab above and then look to the right side of the page and look under the heading "MY Journal". Click on "My Weight History" and on the right side of the page (a little lower down)you will see the option under "My Diet" to "Enter Historical Weight Entries". You can go to specific dates and then edit your weight entry. Was that clear as mud ? LOL
