39yo, was working a full-time sedentary job at a Call Center. Quit the job and WILL get in better shape this winter! Refuse to make excuses, because those won't help me get healthy! I had gotten to the point where I was breathing heavy while tying my shoes and decided enough was ENOUGH!

I started using the "Calorie Counter" app in January 2011, and lost 25lbs from Jan-June the healthy way! I worked out moderately, drank tons of water, ate more fruit than I've ever had in my entire lifetime, and made a conscious effort to stay below my 2k RDI (which "Calorie Counter" helped extensively to make me double think anything that might make me go over my RDI or compromise enjoying a delicious meal later in the day by splurging early on)! I have since revised my RDI to 1800, although I try to stay closer to 1500. Focusing on being in a "Calorie Deficit."

Looking for buddies that log food / exercise / journal entries often (I will try to get back to logging daily!), have some similar interests, and willing to keep eachother motivated throughout our goals / challenges!

Most unforgettable weights:
160 lbs - 1994 (age 12)
135 lbs - 1997 (age 15)
165 lbs - 2001 (age 22)
180 lbs - 2008 (age 26)
208 lbs - 2011 (age 29)
185 lbs - 2014 (age 32)
145 lbs - 2015 (age 33) - was so close! 10 lbs from goal!
212 lbs - 2021 (age 39) - heaviest :(

I am on the road to recovery. I am trying to get back to my highschool body for my wedding next year! <3

Quinoa???
Roseyhillgirl, I found it in Walmart the other day, nearby the Chia Seeds and Milled Flax Seed. They are located in the baking aisle in my local Walmart. I'm glad they have gotten with the times and made these superfoods more easily available!

What leg workouts can I do at home if I don't have access to a gym?
I have found that Youtube videos are an excellent resource for workout material! I have done Zumba and Kickboxing workouts from the privacy of my own home and have been able to tailor them to my skill level and keep myself motivated. I just grab my tablet and workout in the kitchen, or move the coffee table and workout in the living room, or push the computer chairs away to work out at the office...so it goes where I go!

Bulk Edit Foods
If you're able to get to a computer, I think it will be much easier to click the "x" to void them out, rather than on the app, which, iirc, makes you go through a number of screens.

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
I weigh myself daily, and don't get too disappointed when things fluxuate about 2-3 lbs, but 5 lb flux makes me uncomfortable..

I weigh myself just as I wake up, right before jumping into the shower, which I'd say is the optimal time. Smile

I need help!
I think I see what the issue is...even if you log it as you eat it (ie: breakfast at 9pm) then food from "today" runs into the next day...I don't think it's a problem, as long as you're logging everything and staying consistant. If breakfast is at 9pm, lunch falls into the next day around 1am, etc etc...go with it. You're still able to see what you consumed during that day, and that's where you find the issues you learn to fix once you see HOW you're eating throughout the day. Wink
