I'm 57 years old (soon to be 58) and have been off and on diets since I was 16 years old - started with "black beauties" when the doctors were pushing them, progressed to the Beverly Hills Pineapple diet, hypnosis (I was told I either have a deep psychological problem - yeah, I'm fat - or a very strong personality), Pritikin, Atkins, WW WAY too many times with joining fees, Medifast, Advocare and a bunch in between. So we have been on the New Atkins for 6 weeks now, but just discovered this site when I whined about not losing any weight. Turned out I needed to re-read some sections - and now it's working! I have 5 kids,all boys but my youngest, who still lives with us (she's 17) and dear hubby who needs to lose also. I am THE cook and bottle washer, so easier to keep track here that on slips of paper for everyone. I have entered a new time in my life -- I am retired (was not my idea cause got ROF'ed) but now would like to concentrate on ME for once. My mom passed at 69 and I don't want to do that - so here I am!
