At 31 years old, and mom of 2, I have been struggling with weight loss for 15 years. I have tried many options, paid for many motivation conferences and bought many books, lost weight only to gain it back, twice over. After my youngest child was born 2 years ago, I fell in PPD and was put on meds that have weight gain as one possible side effect...well I was one of the few to who this side effect was very present. It made me hungry all the time and no matter how much I tried to diet, or exercise, no results came. I gained nearly 50lbs since I started those meds, and I already had a good 25 lbs to loose from pregnancy. I am now heavier than I was when 40 weeks pregnant with my first child (the heavier I had ever been).
My wake up call though didn't come from the mirror telling me I was fat, or from the back pain that limits me, or from the lack of energy to keep up with my kids...THAT wake up call, came from the mouth of my 3 and a half year old son: " Mommy, I want a big belly like you"
At that moment, I told myself I wasn't going to let my kids see fat as what they should aimed to be and unhealthy as normal.
So here I am, doing this for myself, but mostly, for my kids!
