Don't work so hard in the gym, you may have lost fat, but gained muscle... just saying ...

Yep it balances out. Muscle though it may weigh more will help burn calories long after you have eaten. Dont fret your doing well

Google "why the scale lies" for insight in to water weight fluctuations. Exercise can cause the muscles to temporarily retain water making the scale go up. Take your measurements too. It does suck to see the scale go up, but if you are only eating 1200 calories a day, then you will see results if you keep it at. Make sure you drink water/liquids too.

I just looked at your food diary. Try to eat less carbs and more protien. I think you will find better results if you did that . Don't give up you can do this!

I'd agree with Dialla, I've had great success with the ketosis approach (high fat/protein and low carbs). Best of luck going forward :)

mak sure you're eating enough! Seriously....if you're working out, you def need more than 1200 a day! WHen I started out losing weight, I was eating 1350 a day and working out 5x a week and nothing was happening for 5 weeks. I finally found out about TDEE and I upped my intake especally protein, and I lost 2lbs in less than a week! 5 weeks into eating more and Ive lost 5lbs. If you don't eat enough your body can't burn the fat.

1200 calories? You're body is in starvation mode. I would agree, cut your carbs to about 50 grams a day, increase your protein to .8 - 1.0 gram per pound of body weight and increase your fat intake. You calorie intake should be around 10x your body weight to lose weight.

go calculate your TDEE...there are many diff ones on the internet. Just to give you an example... I'm 5'3" 32 yrs old, and 146.4lbs. My body needs NO LESS than 1300 to burn fat and lose weight but it's recommended that I don't eat that little more than once a week. My daily average is between 1400-1600. I zig zag my calories so I can change up my meals. But I never go less than 1300 or it'd hinder my success. My body burns 1800-2250 calories on a daily basis (depending on if I work out or not). Also, another important number to now is your BMR.....basal metabolic rate.....resting calories. THis is what your body would burn if you just laid in bed all day. Mine is 1450, so if I don' even eat 1450, I'm putting my body into starvation mode! Consistenly eating less than your BMR is very dangerous and could severely backfire!!

My doctor told me to cut because 1500 calories wasn't doing it. If my pants or shirts fit at all better, I would ignore the scale. But I have had no change there either.

have you had your thyroid checked? 1200 just isnt enough for anyone unless they're 100lbs and 4' tall!

It says my TDEE is 1602 with no exercise. When I ate that much I still didn't lose. Now I'm not hungry enough to eat that much. I'm sorry to complain, guys. I appreciate the advice. I'm just really fed up with my weight and nothing at all seems to work. I just needed to vent. Thanks again for the advice everyone. Oh, and I drink at least 48oz of water per day. I just don't transfer it from my paper log to the online journal.

That is the problem with most doctors, they don't know jack, they spent all their time trying to learn everything. You weren't losing with 1500 because that isn't enough calories either. At your weight, you need to up your calorie intake. CUT the carbs. Carbs are your enemy right now. Even those in peak physical condition like body builders will cut their carbs in cut mode. The only carbs you should be taking in would be from green veggies. You'll feel like crap for about 3 days. Stick with it and after 2 weeks the inches will start dropping off.

They are right... NO CARBS... eat all the veg and fruit you want... but no CARBS!

Sometiems there are other things at play. My mom starved herself and gained weight (retained a lot of water). She did a lot of cardio and ate barely anything for a long time, then finally figured out she had cushings syndrome. Not saying this is the case with you but sometimes there is something else going on. As amyskids said, best get your thyroid checked. having said that, 1200 is not enough, especially at 90kg. You'll end up starving and eating up your muscle tissue which you need to burn calories with. better stick with 1500 until you drop down to 80 or similar. anyways keep strong and hopefully things will swing around soon

Lots of good advice given here. I echo what's been said about carbs. Less carbs, more protein and good fats. One other thing I'd suggest it drinking more water, aim for doubling the 48 oz, 96 oz a day would be better. Seems crazy but I've had the best success losing when I'm drinking a gallon or so a day. Don't give up.

Totally unfair.

Try my Caloric Confusion principle...

I know when I have stopped losing weight, if I eat more (calories) I think I raised it to 1800, originally about 1300, I started losing more weight!
