Johanne's Journal, 21 July 2011

I'm still holding steady. It's so incredibly hot right now that more movement is not an option. At least I've learned to maintain. If I never lost another ounce I'm better off than I was. I WILL NOT loose my desire to be healthier and smaller or give up. I will just continue to eat healthy, think positive thoughts and wait this out.
211.0 lb Lost so far: 68.0 lb.    Still to go: 11.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

You are doing fantastic... and just think when it comes time to really maintain you will have it down pat... and perhaps you were at this weight for a long time and your body is just holding steady because it remembers being comfortable here.

Jo, that is exactly how I feel. I am still in the range (although I did gain a bit over the last few weeks), and even if I never lose anymore...well, I am better off than I was. As for is out until this heat exits....ARGHHH!!! Hope you have a great day! Love ya!

Pixi, funny you should say that. In 1989, when my husband left, I lost almost this exact amount of weight and stayed at this weight for about 3 years . . . for a year after my catastrophic head on collision when I almost lost my right foot. I stayed at this weight for one year after my foot and ankle reconstruction, at which point my metabolism caught up and I gained back the 70 lbs I had lost. I had been really heavy since 1994 until now. Thanks for the idea. Maybe my body has selected this as a prior set point. I know I will get past it.

Stef, if you hadn't gained any over the past few weeks, I would have officially dubbed you a saint. The awful part is, there is no foreseen let up in this heat. I would try to exercise in the house, but the AC won't keep up and I can't keep it under 80F. With no moving air, that's just to hot for maintained movement. (No fans.) I love you too!

No Chubby, thanks. You have a fantastic day too. I am working on the house, so I'm still working up a sweat, but unfortunately, it's not the aerobic kind. LOL!
