I'm doing gluten and sugar free for a while. We will see how that works.

Yes! I am not having sugar either! If I could limit myself to only veggie carbs that would be great! And I'm trying to skip processed . . . ..

Here's you a nice Gluten Free Corn Bread recipe I found...the reviews on it are all great. I don't know if your much on cooking, but I've found that making my own homemade foods helps me cause I know just what is going into my food. If you don't already have a pinterest.com page you should check it out; the greatest place for finding new recipes. Check out my pins at http://www.pinterest.com/meltonlisa12/ You might also want to try Quinoa, another gluten free product yet full of protein. Good luck & keep up the great progress :) Ingredients 1 cup white or brown rice flour 3/4 cup stone-ground Gluten Free cornmeal 2 to 3 Tablespoons of sugar 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 3/4 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon Xanthan Gum 1 Tablespoon butter + 1/4 cup melted butter or coconut oil 2 beaten eggs 1 cup milk kernels of 1 ear of fresh corn (optional, be sure to remove all corn silk) Directions Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Mix the dry ingredients together in a meduim bowl and set aside. Melt the one tablespoon of the butter or oil in a 10 inch cast-iron skillet or 8/9 inch round baking pan in the oven. This takes about three minutes. Swirl the butter around the pan coating the bottom and sides. In a small bowl, combine the eggs, milk, and 1/4 cup of the butter or oil and corn. Add this mixture all at once to the flour mixture and stir to incorporate. Pour batter into the hot skillet or baking pan. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a wooden toothpick comes out clean. Serve warm.

Just to clarify: I didn't lose 2.5 pounds in two days! I usually weigh myself and record it based on the official scale (on thursdays) but i did a last weigh in on my own scale before new year's . . . . and I missed last week since I was away . . . "skiing" except I didn't really ski!

Isn't it so motivating to see those numbers lower on the scale. It's like a prize or reward!

Oooh I thought it would never happen again! It's been very slow! I was starting to get impatient! I tested my glucose the other morning and it was 118 - exactly the same as before, my weight hadn't changed, measurements the same . . . . but now I have a little encouragement! I want to do a juice / smoothie few days detox . . . . but I don't know much about staying healthy on liquids!

I'm right with you on the gluten & sugar avoidance for now, plus no lactose for me either. But that still leaves so many other great foods to eat, and the feeling of great health! Glad to be on this journey together!

oh yes; i'm not having milk, but i have some dairy; i'm also not having apples, kelp, turmeric (that's a big deal for me since i use it a lot), it would be great if I remembered the other things i'm supposed to avoid. it's based on a blood test . . . .

I've been thinking about having protein shakes or smoothies for breakfast and lunch, with a sensible dinner. Not sure if I am going to do it. Good luck!
