If your not eating enough your body will just store everything you ate instead... Not sure how tall you are but I think you should be eating at least 1400 everyday

Sounds like water weight. Any high protein diet will make you even more susceptible to water weight than normal. Sodium? Hormones? Make sure your drinking water.

Thank you both. I'm 5ft 4inches. The problem is, I tend to eat more calories on my Protein+Veggie days but on my Protein only days I find it really difficult to eat enough calories, I tend to be below 1000 most of my protein only days just because I'm not hungry and don't feel like eating any more, especially not more protein! As for sodium, I think I'll watch my intake but to be honest, I don't think it should be high. I don't add any salt to any of my food but going to start looking at labels for sodium as well now. Hormones should also be okay, not TOTM or anything...that was only 10 days ago. Hopefully it will come off tomorrow!

nuts and peanut butter or such things will help keep calories up with good protein

PB not allowed on Dukan. Water weight gain is common after a PV day depending on how much and what type of V you had. Sodium hides in a lot of things. I actually gain a little water weight just before ovulation and alot just before my TOM (lucky me). Daily fluctuations are normal...as long as you aren't cheating the trend will me downwards.

I know it is hard...but don't weigh yourself every day....if you want weigh after each PP day rather than a PV. If i recorded every single day while I was in cruise there would have been ups and downs but ultimately the weight steadily goes down. Sodium is my enemy. Drink a lot of water and be extra good on your PP day and the scale will be down tomorrow. Are you upping your exercise a little? The 40 minutes he prescribes should be done at one time to be more effective than breaking it up. Then the scale will be more cooperative. :).

Thank you ladies! I'm still doing the walking but today I'm introducing cardio. My worst nightmare! I hate cardio! But I don't want to start doing weights just yet until I can see my weight go down a little more. Aiming for a 500 calorie burn per day, hoping it will be enough, that's around 30-40 minutes on my elliptical for me which I can just about cope with. I knowwwww I shouldn't weight myself everyday. I'm actually not going to any more. I decided today. It just puts me in a bad mood for the day when it goes up so decided to only weight once a week. It's going to be hard but I will do it. Then at least I should see a change from week to week! and need to plan it so that mt PP day falls on the day before of my weigh-in day :) I definitely feel a difference though. My ribs and hip bones are much more noticeable, shame about the mid section which seems to want to stay where it is! I have to say, I've never really looked at labels for sodium unless it's on the front, like on popcorn and things it's always highlighted in red so I know it's bad but I never purposely turn the packet over to check the sodium content, maybe I should. I'm eating Dukan foods so haven't really looked at the back of any foods as I'm only really eating fresh meats etc Definitely something to look into just in case! I know that it has to go down no matter what. I'm so focused on the first pizza I will be able to eat in a few months' time, I honestly don't feel like cheating, ever. and if I do, I have a greek yoghurt - I don't have much dairy so the yoghurt feels like a naughty treat! Not going to weigh now until Saturday, which should be my official weigh-in day anyway. We shall see! Doesn't look like I've lost any cm's let alone inches but I haven't measured for a while!

Learn to love it! If you want my advice...don't wait to start weight training. Start with just one day a week if you want but weight training does more for you. I can't remember who said it on here but " if you want to look good in clothes....do cardio. If you want to look good naked...weight train!"

Haha that's amazing! I did weight training throughout my entire diet between August and December and lost LOTS of inches. It was the resistance training that really did it for me and I actually quote enjoy it. I may do 30-45 minutes of cardio each day and throw a couple of weight training days in the mix then. I will then slightly increase it week by week so I'm doing more weights than cardio, that will suit me fine, I much prefer to do weights than cardio. I prefer feeling like my muscles are on fire to feeling like my lungs are about to collapse!

Also, keep in mind, patience and consistancy is key. The body will adapt and change, but it just takes time. Body weight resistance training; pushups, situps, planks, squats, etc are great to start off with too! If you have a hiking trail with hills near you, those are great for low impact endurance cardio. Make cardio fun! It shouldn't have to be a chore :)
