An nsv of sorts, i just bought two xl bathing suits online. I have not bought or worn a swimsuit in more than 20 years. Will be going to my roommate's cabin this summer and i may have to get over myself this year and get in the lake. Last year i had on sweats the whole time.
I am too large for them right now, according to the size chart. Trying to guesstimate where i will be in a few months.

I find "getting over one's self" is often the hardest thing about living.

Well I like that story! I took my 300 pound self and did the polar bear plunge in front of a couple thousand people. Marched my swimming suit-clad self right on down there in front of everyone. Freezin' for a Reason (special olympics). I am glad you are not going to deprive yourself of freedom to enjoy yourself with your friends in the lake!!

We understand here, at least I definitely do and I'm sure others do also. I have been depriving myself of going in the ocean with my son & friends lately for that reason. I use the excuse it is too cold, too rough, I"m too tired, etc. But the truth is I feel so sub conscious in a swim suit I don't even know if I fit in any that I currently have! BUT you are an inspiration to me. I also relate to your profile. It doesn't matter what other say/think/do, it is about ME now. I heard the Diana Ross song this morning on the radio, "Its my time" and it couldn't have played at the best time for me right now. It is your time and you are worth everything you want :-)

We only live once. Do it now and enjoy life! I love to see people living life to the fullest. But I was a ER RN for 18 years and I know what death looks like! Live life for you self. Enjoy!!!

As soon as I feel comfortable in a slack or shirt...I go out and buy the next size down...that gives me something to shoot for (more than just what the scale tells me)..it's one way I motivate myself (right now I've got some that are getting a bit tight, so I'm working to alleviate that)..good luck to you
