bizzybee38's Journal, 28 March 2018

I was not expecting to lose any weight last week. I was really surprised. When I look at my numbers; BMI, fat mass, and fat percent I still get a little depressed. There is no way I can meet the numbers that "they" say that I should be. 24.9 is the highest for BMI and I am at 27.7, impossible.

My wedding dress is ready to be picked up!!!! I am excited, but still scared to try it on even though I know it is going to be too big. I am meeting with a seamstress on April 16th in order to get it tailored to fit. Although my journey is not over (the struggle is real and will continue for the rest of my life) I am happy about how far I have come. I must remember that always. I cannot downplay my achievements due to some numbers that I may never achieve. If I am going to continue to be successful I MUST change my mindset.

Cheers friends

Amazing success! I was reading an article the other day that talks about how BMI was created to compare cultures not individuals. Body fat percentage and physical performance are better indicators of health. The Mayo clinic just released something called the BVI or body volume indicator. Do a quick web search and find the best tool for you.

Your going to look amazing on your special day. Your losing fat. Some of this "stuff" can absolutely drive you crazy. Be the judge on how you feel. You've come so far and very happy for you!

It's not the destination but the journey that matters. You're losing weight, that's what counts. Don't focus on what charts tell you you should weigh. If I had BMI of 24.9, I would be skin on bones. Take a look at yourself in the mirror. You know what looks good for you. That's what matters, not some BMI score that doesn't account for individual body type.

Yes, don't stress on a BMI number. They are not always accurate. Be proud of everything you have done, amazing!
