So... since getting the blood pressure monitor/cuff last Tuesday, I've taken many readings, at different times, after different activities - average systolic was 110 (median: 108); average diastolic was 64 (median: 62); and, average pulse was 63 (median: 62)... yeah, thinking I REALLY need to come off of (or down from) these blood pressure meds!

Don't stop them yet, yes your numbers are great, but weren't you taking your meds to get theses numbers. Remember your meds control it, your numbers are really just normal, not low.

Thanks, one and all! Don't worry, @possible? I was just thinking "outloud", 'cause: 1) I was originally diagnosed with PRE-hypertension (when I was nearly 400 lbs, 2) several of those readings were right after moderate aerobic activity, and 3) even when I was "fit" (Army) and young (20s) never had readings this "good".

My Dr. told me since I was on the drugs, I would have the good readings !!! So still on them due to health issues !!! YUK !!!

did you get the blood pressure monitor for your own purposes or will your doctor see the results so he can make a decision about your meds? Those are great numbers!

Great readings yup dump the drugs! I was exercising which lower bp and taking 10 mg lisinipril once a day and ended my meds when the bp dropped extremely low everyday. Good luck!

These are readings to celebrate.

@Fritzy 22 - he ordered the cuff machine to get a sense of where the BP was, with the intent of (his words) at least cutting the dose down, and possibly coming off entirely.

Those are great readings and hopefully you can get off those meds soon. At one point I was on 4 different meds for blood pressure but now only 2 and the BP is stable. You are doing excellent.

I am amazed at how much BP can fluctuate during a day. But it does look like you are on the path to getting rid of some medications. Congratulations!!

From 371 How I set up my case to my doctor for getting off the meds... took BP and pulse every morning as baseline. Then took every day after exercise while still ‘pumped up’ and sweating aerobically and gave him those BP AND pulse readings! He will want the pulse as well! Then gave readings 10 minutes and 1 hour after aerobic activity of BP and pulse. They were all low enough that he agreed stopping was a good idea. Realize magnesium supplements or Epsom Salt baths can lower your BP as well. 🤷🏻‍♀️Good luck!

Doc messaged me - if I can keep the diastolic that low, I'm comin' off the meds soon (in another month?)

Good for you!! Your body is thanking you for doing so many good things for it. What a great feeling to be in control so much you can kick the meds to the curb.
