Today I decided to fast as long as I can. So to help myself succeed, I slept in, let the kids fix their own bowl of granola to avoid the kitchen.
I also feel a cold coming on, so I soaked my feet in some eucalyptus, peppermint, lemon, HPS, soap and hot water after a good scrub I added a shot of peroxide and soaked them until I got bored then gave myself a quick pedicure... well, I saw the time... still don’t want to break fast. So I used my pink clay and rose mask. Smells delightful 🥀

Started the tea kettle... coffee or tea today?! I am going to make the bed and pick up around the house and avoid downstairs, where the temptations are.

Currently my dining table is covered in red wine bottles, chocolates (for the girlies and the man) and a large amount of holiday cards, balloons and flowers. Yesterday was such a great day. I didn’t give in to my temptation of brownies and ice cream. And I have a slight loss to prove I made the right choice!!!

Also my stomach is feeling even flatter this morning, at weigh in my muscle % went up and my body fat % went down!!! YAY!!! Seeing these numbers is like a game to me, today I want to do some exercises after I break fast and try to eat very few carbs 10NC, and see if my numbers change in two days from now! Feeling motivated and great...
138.9 lb Lost so far: 28.8 lb.    Still to go: 16.9 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Also whitening your teeth helps with distracting from food... can’t eat for at least 80 minutes... since the process is 20minutes and then it suggests you don’t eat/drink 1hr... 😉👍

Thanks... Yes and the temptations continue. My freezer has like 4 ice cream options and we have cones in the cupboard and brownies in the fridge 😩 it’s so hard. But knowing I am inching towards my goal is a reminder of what and why I am doing this.

On track!!! And it is so much healthier to lose weight very slowly, as you know. :) Super challenging, at least at first, to handle having the not-for-me foods around, eh?

@Ann Marnae yes, I am averaging around 1400 calories a day. I am not really as concerned or strict with calories as I am with tracking Carbs and some days I will fluctuate up but don’t always log those... This week I am fasting for longer periods mostly for my gut health. I have been belching, having pains and issues... 🤷‍♀️ but the problems seem to subside when I fast. So trying to let my body “rest and repair”.

So well done for avoiding the brownie temptation. Now you know it was so not worth it, and by all chances if you had gone for it .. you would be pretty down today with regret. Just try and remember how great you feel for beating that temptation today and you will beat it next time too :) You must be really buzzing after that real victory! Best of luck on your journey.

Valentine's was hard but I too made it through without breaking.... Well I did have 1 square piece of 85% dark chocolate that had 3G of carbs in it but it was within my daily limit so it wasn't considered a cheat. I wanted the whole bar!

I had enough filet mignon to feel full before bedtime, but that was my only Valentine's Day "cheat" Great job Momma!

@exxiss thanks. I talked myself into eating it and back out of it so many times... my BF was rolling his eyes... but it was a struggle. I won!!!!

@tina a majority of the people I follow are doing keto. But there are some vegans, some people just tracking loss of weight and food journaling.

I do not fully understand a person's desire to fast... is there some medical benefit to it? How is it helping you? Please note my questions are purely out of curiosity and not judgmental. I just see a lot of people on this site posting about fasting.

If your fasting try coffee, are you allowed any food? total fasting is seriously good but hard to maintain, in line with the 5-2 Diet which allows a man 600 and a woman 500 calories a day I now fast three days a week, coffee in the morning 100 calories coffee in the afternoon 100 calories small meals at lunchtime and last meal around 6pm in the evening, the coffee (caffeine) gives you a lift and helps you get over the lack of food, its working well for me, best of luck with yours.

@silverfox thanks. I’ll look into that. I am not super strict on myself besides my carb limit. Try to listen to my body, if I’m hungry HUNGRY I will eat and break fast. Today I kept myself busy and hunger didn’t bother me until I realized we were running behind on our errands and still had to drive home and then cook... 😩😩 so we just picked up In-N-out... got a cheese burger wrapped in lettuce... not as healthy as I had hoped, but still within my carb limits and such.
