There is a store locally that Wal-Mart will donate stuff to all the time. This store will give this stuff away for free. We got some habanero peppers a couple weeks ago, but yesterday my husband brings out this quarter sheet cake. This gorgeous chocolate cake, beautifully decorated and smelled heavenly. My nieces were thrilled...me, not so much. I think it's great he thinks about them and I don't fault him at all, but it sucks to sit here at the table with this gorgeous cake staring at me. Everytime they open it to get a piece, the chocolate smell wafts to me, like it's calling my name. Remember the old cartoons when the scent would turn into fingers beckoning Donald Duck or whoever to the source of the smell...I felt just like that. It smells so good!!
I have been good though, not even a finger taste of frosting. I just can't wait until it's gone!!!

Don't eat the cake! You'll be fine.

You could (preemptively) toss it in the trash, under the guise of... "It was turning stale and I don't want y'all getting sick."

Try chewing some minty gum, like the strong kind! I find that it helps when I’m around tempting stuff. You got this sweetie!

Thanks everyone!! I am actually really happy that I am able to stay away from it. I feel like the me that started this journey in January would have caved already. Especially when I was cutting a piece for my niece last night and got some frosting on my hand, it would have been nothing to lick it off, but I didnt. I want to be able to look in the mirror and be proud of how strong I have become, and I can now. Again, thank you everyone!! :D

Pop was my sin. So I loaded up on pop in the house. About 20+ 2 liter bottles of it. Then on Jan 30th 2015, I had my last sip. Had half a 2 liter still on that table. It sat there, open for more then 6 months and i did not touch it. Finally invited neighbors over and started to give the pop to them. That was almost 26 months ago since my last sip. Just water and 4-6 oz of V8 in the morning with my pills.

You rock! The cartoon image made me laugh, I totally remember that. He would float to it with hearts over his head :D Glad you stayed strong, it's not worth it!

Boy, that's rough. I'd probably have to leave the table during dessert and then get it out of sight until the next meal. I ate 2 pieces of my fabulous birthday cake and it stopped my progress for days. Definitely not worth it. It's a real victory that you didn't slip. 👍
