Great BP numbers. Are you drinking something that may be causing the BS?

Dboza - ACV/Lemon Juice Drink. Lemon is very low in sugar.

Your body may be trying to compensate for the lack of carbohydrates. When you don't eat, your glucose level goes down. The liver will attempt to compensate for this by releasing glucose into the blood stream...so your BS goes up.

Gillian622 - So you're saying it's a good thing because my body needs to exhaust all of it's glycogen reserves before it starts burning ketones?

Gillian is correct. Mine did the same thing and I was puzzled UNTIL I did the research. Unfortunately, we insulin resistant people have an abundance of glucose to release. But since shedding my numbers are much better. I always wondered what it was that made me so "sweet"....glucose:)

Yep. Your liver will keep releasing, just like it does while you are sleeping. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water! 🙋🏻

I have Type II diabetes. My BS is always higher in the morning before my 1st meal. Usually I eat low carb supper between 5 & 6 pm. Nothing after that until breakfast. My BS runs between 100 & 115. On the few times I do eat a snack after supper before 8pm, it runs between 85 & 95. The rest of the day it stays between 80 & 95.

I do some intermittent fasting & have done a juice fast but never that many days of full on fasting! I'm interested to see how it goes for you as I also have type 2 diabetes & have been considering a fast. Good luck! :D

No Trucker Larry, I'm saying your liver is trying to save your life by keeping your blood sugar at a reasonable level. :)
Not eating is not a healthy option when you deal with diabetes.

Trucker Larry, great job on the fasting! It sounds like you're experiencing "The Dawn Phenomenon" which you can find on Dr. Jason Fung's website (in case the link doesn't post right)
intensivedietarymanagement.com/dawn-phenomenon-t2d-8/
It is basically your body releasing glucose from your liver (good thing) in order to "wake up" your body in the mornings after fasting/sleeping.

@Gillian622 - That is an old way of thinking. Fasting is WONDERFUL for T2 diabetics! Check out "The Complete Guide to Fasting" by Dr. Jason Fung and Jimmy Moore. It's an awesome book!

I often find that my sugars are higher in the morning before I eat anything, then they tend to drop. Wouldn't worry too much, it's pretty common.
