Happy Tuesday, My Best Buddies!

I love to listen to books on my iPod at night and recently reviewed Dr. David Perlmutter's book, "Grain Brain." He is a neurologist who believes memory issues and many many other conditions like ADHD and depression can be improved with nutrition - especially gluten and sugar free.

The doctor particularly discusses healthy fats and the way they fuel our brains - not glucose! Another score for the LCHF lifestyle.

The photo is my brain arsenal to keep me sharp and present! I also include avocado and nuts.

Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle - Tom Venuto

Short Range Goals:
* Macros 60%-70% fat, 20-30% protein, 10% carbs - better under 10%!
* Back in the "Blue" on Idiot Boxes while retaining muscle - July?
* Bodyfat % reading with trainer for June 23
* Drink at least 12 - 16 cups of fresh water daily - especially on gym days
* Continue HIIT mixed in with weight lifting four to five days a week
* Keep up the training notebook to achieve progressive overload
Long Range Goals: 2017
*Bodyfat at 22% (Current 24.5%) by year end 2017
*Maintain Idiot Boxes around 152-158lbs staying under goal weight
*Increased strength, endurance and flexibility during workouts

I love Dr. Perlmutter! He does some great interviews...check out his YouTube channel. One I really like is with a clinical pediatrician who reversed her husband's early-onset Alzheimer's with MCT oil.

My mental health has been greatly improved since I went LCHF. Less anxiety, depression, irritability -- I'm so grateful to feel happier and healthier. The weight loss is really secondary. Yes, the good doctor is right, in my experience. And damn to those misguided 'experts' who had me on 'healthy whole grains' for so many years, as I got fatter and crazier as I tried to lose weight on the low fat diets.

Oh, yes, SUPER BUDDY is right! You so very educated in this game, you REALLY get it. That's what keeps you in our awe...we need you to filter it all down to what we can easily understand. Plus, you lead by example...hey, are you sure you're not a psychological, physiological, personal trainer guru??? :)
