Sandy701's Journal, 06 December 2011

Finally catching up on my food and exercise diaries....3.1 miles walked both yesterday and today.

My schedule was all discombobulated yesterday, but I decided to get my walk in right before dinner. It was really nice...people coming home from work, Christmas lights coming on, and GREAT MUSIC to walk by!!!

My legs had been sore earlier in the day, which was surprising because Sunday had been my day off. But then I realized Saturday had been the day I found myself walking faster because of the music....could it be I had a slightly more strenuous workout then???? Seems like it, as my legs felt like they had been worked out - HARD.

Well, I got my walk in late on Monday and just went out and walked this morning with the doggies. We have rain in the forecast, so no one may get an outdoor walk tomorrow. Today is an amazing December day, even for the South. It was over 70 degrees at 9AM (76 as of 11AM), but very humid. Shorts and t-shirt are the apparel of the day.

I hope to take most of the day to work on Christmas gifts and the remaining decorating. I picked up one more "angel" at church, so I began to look for Naruto Anime DVD's for Season 5.

Now considering I had no idea what I was looking for, I've made some inroads. Unfortunately, it appears that Season 5 is not yet on a DVD box set, so I'll have to come up with an alternative. I tried the US distributor; I've tried Amazon, and various other online outlets. It appears that I could get it from an overseas distributor that promises they do not sell pirated copies.....but I'm not doing ANYTHING overseas with my credit card at this time of the year!!!

Well, I need to check on some journals and then it's time to get busy!!!!

Catching up can be hard. I keep going back and adding more food as I remember it - which is NOT the way to do a food diary. But anyway, interesting theory about walking faster with the music - or maybe with all your other activities you are doing more walking than you think you are? Good luck shopping for your Angel.

Walking, you are really doing good with that. Music, the right tempo makes it easier too. I used to love to walk, havn't been able to for quite a while. There is nothing like being outside, enjoying the fresh air and scenery.

Hey, Sandy. Great job with the walking. We woke to a surprise snow this morning. Just about 1/2 an inch, but it did bring a smile to my face. Wish I could help with the Naruto Anime, but I am clueless...lol...my youngest probably knows what it is, though. He is into the computer art and anime thing. Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by my journal and for the prayers! Hugs!

Buffy, I HAVE been doing more non-exercise walking, you're right. I guess it's that time of the year for that sort of thing...malls and stores can sure add onto the mileage! Have a great Tuesday.

Gigi, I read about your shots for your knees - can't imagine how painful that could be, but I know it would stop me from walking pretty quickly, even though it's supposed to help!

Stef, I'd love to see just a bit of snow....notice I said "a bit" LOL!...nothing like going Christmas shopping with great big flakes drifting down on my face! No chance of that down here, though. Anyway, I found out a bit more about the Naruto thing - unfortunately "season" can mean the way the box sets are set up (final episode was in season 4 box set) OR they can refer to the season various episodes were broadcast, which is different in Japan vs. the "season" they were aired here in the US. All in all, it's not clear to me exactly what episodes this kid already has, so I'm opting for another gift suggestion for him. Gift receipts won't really cut it, as the DVD's are not available locally. I don't want to saddle any family in need with the struggle of trying to ship a return back to an online retailer.

Bren....that's what all the music was on the tape left in my cassette player....oldies but goodies....and boy, did they get me movin'! Can you still use your Walk it Out program or have you already solved all the mysteries finding that rainbow?

GG...Luckily by the time I walked last night, my legs were feeling better. Now, walking right again this morning was a whole different matter!!! I guess I really should follow your lead on cross-training.

Notfast, not only do I walk faster, but I have to be careful I don't break out in song, singing along! That would really start the neighborhood dogs barking!

Oh Sandy, it will take me forever to finish the game..but you can catch a rainbow everytime..as it won't stay like the other stuff does..you will see cows, barns, bridges, there are just too many things to mention...its quite fun for me....and the time passes so fast...I like the oldies but goodies...they have more up beat music..☺
