Just an FYI....this is what my nails look like now, long and strong and they grow like mad. I have to file them down each week or they get so long I can't do anything with my hands. Prior to this past year I always had to have acrylic nails put on because my nails were so weak and thin, the tips split and flaked constantly and they grew very slowly. I could go for over a month before I needed an acrylic fill. Now, nothing will stick to my nails for more than a week. I stopped getting acrylic because they needed fills every week and they were constantly lifting off the nailbed. This is 6 months with no acrylic, the nails have shed all of the marks of artificial nail abuse. Healthy...I like it a lot!

I use to have nails like that. For one of my 10 lb. goals, I went to get my first manicure. Had the French nail look done. My fingers nails have not been the same.

It does, I also have a huge amount of short new growth that can't be contained in a hair control device.......so I have a halo of shorter hair when I wear it up😀

Kathleen, I stopped eating most processed foods (still hanging onto my smoked sausage) I stopped using commercial lotions, potions and soaps. I make my own at home with natural ingredients and lots of essential oils. I made an infused oil with fresh rose petals and fresh rosemary and avocado oil that I use on my hands and on my scalp. Between removing chemical additives from my diet and skin and adding in healthy fats and oils to both my diet and skin....something is working!

Normadale, I really noticed an improvement after I started Intermittent Fasting in earnest back in April, prior to that my nail condition had improved and they had started growing but not really getting stronger. When I started IF it was like supergrow kicked in and they not only grew faster but they were strong and flexible. They have a little bit of give to them so they don't snap off when I stab them into something....and being on a farm...I do that often but I also have no chipping, splitting or tears. No hangnails either.

LOL and I was just looking closely at the photo, I have man-hands - to fit my entire hand in the picture at that close of a range I had to squish my fingers together and it makes my skin wrinkle up my largest ring size is a 10 (forefinger) my smallest is a 5 (pinky) and I can't buy bangle bracelets from a store, they won't fit over my hands...I have to have bangles custom made so I only have one set of two. I have always envied women with small dainty hands!

My nails are growing, too. I have always had chips and splits and they were so bendable. They are getting stronger, but I didn't know what was doing it. My hair seems a bit better. It come out in the handfuls when I brush it. I attributed that to the pony tail bands making it break, ... but maybe not. I haven't noticed and new growth, but I'll be checking that out later.

I envy those nails! I've always had terrible nails and as I get older they get worse. They do seem to be growing faster but since I've only been on this diet for a few months the really new nails haven't had time to grow out yet. I hope they end up looking like yours. The worse thing I ever did was acrylic nails but once I got sick the nurses told me that they had to go. Getting them to grow out was murder.

LMAO@NM!! I LOVE to dance!!!! I'm not graceful or good at it, but I never let that stop me from doing it!!!! I took belly dancing classes once, I think I was around 275 at the time...my belly did all the dancing it wanted to....was really hard for the rest of my body to keep up with it though..... ;)

I IF everyday, between 16 to 20 hrs. Have now since mid April or so. Is that too soon to see results? Your weight loss and lifestyle is inspiring. I am so glad you got to ride again.

You know, I have had a complete and total life makeover, I can't say which part made the most difference....the quiet stress free living, part-time fulfilling-loved job, a home that provides sustenance (body and soul) as well as shelter. Creating a mostly chemical free living environment. Finding peace in my soul and attempting to spread it to others. Removing poison from my diet, adding nutritious filling foods that the medical establishment said was bad for us years ago. Living with a happy, positive outlook even when things are going wrong. Rediscovering my faith. Returning to nature for what my body needs instead of a pill. Who knows what is doing the magic...all I know is...it's working!
