My HUGE mug of coffee in the morning is 125 calories! Should I rethink this? I do 16:8 IF, but does it count with this coffee full of calories?

If you were doing this like Bulletproof Coffee it is supposed to give you that extra energy to get through the morning until you finally decide to break the fast, and if this is the case you really shouldn't be concerned about kcal but rather the source of those kcal

I read somewhere that while fasting you want to stay under 100 kcal, I do coffee with 2 tsp of coconut oil =92 kcal

it sounds like your huge cup of coffee has more than just coffe in it! if you're putting anything other than MCT oil and/or butter in it, then it's not fasting. i do 16:8 IF and drink tea and eat a tablespoon of coconut oil (it's not good in tea, so i just eat it off a spoon) in the morning.

I do Bulletproof Coffee that is well over 3000 calories in the morning. Solid foods are 16:8 for me.
|
OPPPSSS - that should read *300* calories

Lols HCB! I was about to ask you how big and what's in that coffee!

If the 125 calories are just from coconut/MCT oil or butter you should be OK. If I'm doing it for the health benefits of IF then I personally skip the butter. If you're adding other stuff to it that'll raise carbs or protein it could break the fast but I don't know what or if there is a magic number of "other" calories allowed. HCB I want to see that 3000Kcal cup of coffee! :)

@HCB- Oh my LOL! Thanks everyone! I put unsweetened almond milk, cinnamon, a spoonful of protein powder and coconut oil in my coffee. I used to drink it just black, so I am ok with reverting to that. I need to give up the Skol coffee shot...lol

I agree with HCB - solid foods count on a 16:8.
