Cardio shmardio...weight training will build muscle and increase you metabolism while you lose inches...OK, that's what happens for me so I am thinking it will work for you, too. I do cardio in short speed bursts between weight work.

Good Job Red! What diet plan did you switch over to?

I didnt switch diets Smarty, I switched weight lifting "plans". I was following Dr Jim Stoppani, who I still love but I just cant do his short cut to shred plan right now due to old injuries, so I switched to Kris Gethin's muscle building trainer. Its basically a "plan" telling you what exercises to do when. Im still low carb maintaining 25-30 net carbs per day (on a good day) but trying hard to be in "induction" in an effort to jump start my weight loss.. which its working btw.. LOL ..Im trying induction with increased physical activity to try and get back on track bc I had stalled for a long time..

I used to always just do cardio as well. When I was in college I would run for over an hour 5 times a week. I HATED weights. Now its the complete opposite. I HATE running except for sprints. and I love/obsessed with lifting. Lol

Super smart of you to listen to your body. I didn't do that and ignored my aching achillies. Got a partial tear one day. Was confined to a boot for 2 months. Still can't walk...anyway you can always find alternatives for a while and then ease into what your prefer. Maybe elliptical will work, swimming (I used to hate swimming but grew to be neutral/positive about it). Walking sounds great! Good work!!

I was born with hip dyspepsia so I was never much of a runner cause my leg would dislocate and it sucks getting it back in there ... so I never understood the love of running.... if you want some cardio maybe try a bike ride?. it's outside .... either way... weights are way more fun than running or elliptical in my opinion

You need to listen to your body. Find exercises that don't aggravate any previous injuries. Having said that, some pain is caused by muscle imbalances or just plain weak muscles. As long as the pain doesn't last or is unbearable you can try to carefully strengthen those areas. And being low carb does not necessarily mean being keto. Anything less the 100g of carbs a day is considered low carb and will produce similar results for most people.

thanks CH for making that comment about the 100 g per day.. is that net carbs? It surely does make me feel good about my choices bc I go over my self induced limit at times but its sometimes fruit I eat or a couple bites of oatmeal. I wont bs and say its not chips and popcorn also bc we all know it is but I just dont like feeling guilty about eating fruits..
