Happy Friday! Got more movement yesterday but didn't get out for an actual walk. I had shopping to do for the baby shower - and found out that my steps don't get counted while pushing a cart grr! However, I did get all my shopping done for the baked goods I'm in charge of (I think) and ordered the balloons.

Son dropped his phone on his way home on the motorcycle last night. Luckily, we found it (at 930pm in the dark on the road) but the glass is shattered. Can't believe the thing actually still works. It was obviously run over by at least one car. Will get it to an ifixyourphone place and see how long/how much it will take to fix it. May be cheaper just to change him over to MetroPCS and get him a phone there.

Today will be work and then tonight/tomorrow will feel like Christmas season again with all the baking to get ready for Sunday. As much fun as this will be, I'll be glad when the prepping is over.

I will get at least 1 10-minute walk in today. Just to say I got outside on purpose. Next week Dad will be here and I will be off for a few days here and there. I'm always much more active when he's here so that's an extra plus. We spur each other on.

Good Job Newnormal. Next time try pulling the cart instead of pushing. It may count that way. Just saying, we never know.

i like to swing my left hand when i walk to try and get my steps counted LOL , thats where my fit bit is LOL

Red, me too but I always forget! I realized that in December when I thought I'd get a lot of steps. Hands on the cart means no swinging...UGH. Peaches, I am a clutz. I'd be afraid to run over my own feet lol. I will try it though and see if it helps.

I have a Garmin VivoFit2 and I love it and the same always happened to me too when I went shopping. So now I either have my son push the cart or I put the tracker on my ankle and I can push the cart. Hope you can find a way around it so you get those steps! Enjoy the baking and have a great day!!

I'll be good about not sampling and hoping I'll just avoid the sweets table altogether on Sunday :)

DON'T PULL BEHIND YOU, WALK TO THE SIDE OF THE CART. I have worked retail for 30 years so using shopping carts was a daily deal with me. I always pulled or walked to the side. Just because that was easier for me. this gives you 1 arm free to swing beside you and then swap sides.
