soo Ive been having a lot of coffee lately since Ive been walking up early. SO instead of my 1 cup in the am, I have one upon waking, one at 1030ish and then one after lunch. Your thoughts? Someone told me a long time ago coffee was good for you on a low carb diet? Input? I did some bullet proof at 430am and then just reg the other two times or sometimes bullet proof later in the day, but point is, one bullet proof, two regular cups a day. And for the record it does not effect my sleeping at all. The back issue cleared up with a cold compress some one told me about here and also sitting up straight at work with both feet on the ground.. bc I like to sit with my feet up (I work at home). I have a great work desk chair that I shoved aside in favor of a old cushioned piano bench. I should know better. LOL Have a great day every one !

The thing to note for your body is that coffee is very acidic which make it an environment that cancers love... so to bring it to an alkaline level have lemon water after or I use liquid chlorophyl.... it zaps the body instantly to a good alkaline level.

I'm confused--when you drink coffee, doesn't it go into a stomach that uses strong acids for digestion anyway? Reputable sources, such as the Mayo Clinic, suggest that reliable research does not support a coffee-cancer link. If anything, coffee might be associated with a reduction in some cancers.

A lot of coffee @ 3 cups/day?? Or is that what you've changed to? I'm at roughly 10 to 12 cups/day. 4 before work and usually 6 at work... All my 'coffee' cups at home and work can hold 16oz, so I make 2 cups at a time... I love my Keurig, on my 2nd one at home. We're on our 3rd at work in my work group. I might cycle off of it at times without realizing it and then it's back to the black.

@Sweetincense4iam, lemons are acidic... It's pretty much impossible to influence your body's pH level via diet. Our kidneys regulate the pH level to keep it slightly alkaline and within a very narrow range, not anything that you can eat can regulate it as closely.

There is nothing wrong with coffee or green tea as long as it is not an hourly all day thing

I do about 30 oz every am. 10 before work. I take my 20 oz mug with me. Hubby has one ready to go for me when I get home. Sleep like a baby.

There has been a lot of talk the past few years regarding "Alkaline vs. Acidic" foods, and how Acidic foods throw off your body PH....or how Alkaline Water and other Alkaline drinks are better for you....It's just snake oil. Johnny Bowden PhD. CNS http://jonnybowden.com/alkaline-myths the page has a great write up and summary of information that can be found in many other sources.

Coffee is great and as long as you feel good, drink it! Your body will let you know when to cut back...it is a nice diet tool as well...keeps your tummy full and your mind alert. When I hit age 40, or 45 I needed to skip it in the afternoons....could not sleep. Now, that I am 57, I can drink it and fall asleep fairly early, but I notice I dream more or wake more often throughout the night, and I do feel wide awake...Just some advice...
