Annabelle3117's Journal, 27 January 2015

Good morning everyone! All went well over the weekend as far as intake goes. I did go out to dinner with the husband and kids Saturday night, but despite the special meal I still kept calories well within the limits of my RDI.

Clinicals were... overwhelming I suppose. I did well, in my opinion. It seems as though we have been thrown to the wolves, and that is quite overwhelming in and of itself. Lots of students are nurses aides so they are a little more prepared for the basics, but I was a Medical assistant, and coming from an office this is all new to me. Regardless, I think I did really well. Always room for improvement though. Sunday I overheard a couple nurses in a room talking to each other about being concerned about 'a couple students'. I have absolutely no reason to believe they were talking about me, its actually pretty unlikely, however it planted a seed of doubt that stuck with me throughout the day. Most of the time its absolutely impossible to find the instructor when you need her, god only knows where she goes, so we are left to rely on each other. It's stressful, to say the least. I hope my next clinical weekend goes more smoothly.

Despite the madness I did not feed my emotions, and that is a great success. I didn't make it to the gym yesterday because I had one hell of a migraine, but I got up and went first thing this morning. Another positive is that my husband went to the gym last night. I'm trying to be his cheerleader, I need him alive and healthy.

Studying like a crazy woman for a pharmacology test I have tomorrow. We are studying antimicrobials, classifications and drugs. It's a lot of info. Best get back to the grind.

Have a wonderful day, buddies!

Great job eating well over the weekend and you're doing fantastic dealing with the emotions and stress of all you've got going. From what you've said before it seems you've done very well in the class so I doubt the nurses were talking about you. Keep up the good work!

Well done! It sounds like clinicals have a high learning curve - I'm sure you did awesome, the seeds of doubt are totally normal with something that difficult :) Glad to hear about your husband too, it sounds like you're a big positive influence on him.

Good Luck with your test tomorrow! Great that you are a positive influence on you DH. Those nurses had to be talking about someone else. You are doing great!

Would not worry about what you overheard. Talking about other people is human nature. We all do it. It is not a bad thing, it is normal social networking. When you are with a human being what are you going to talk about? The colors of the rainbow or what is going on with the kids, the co-workers, the boss, etc. It is normal and means nothing! You have enough on your plate with out worrying about any social situation of people chatting. That never stops in one's life!
