26 year old lady originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, but have been living in Chicago for the past 3 years.

I work in beer & liquor advertising which simultaneously brings me joy and drives me out of my mind.

I've been a disordered eater all my life, whether that takes shape as emotional binging or self-imposed starvation. In this journey toward overall wellness, my goals are to learn balance, mindfulness, and healthy skills that will last for the rest of my life, and to ultimately stop reflecting my emotions in my food choices.

Beer and Social Life
Hey Craftbeer, thought I'd chime in as well.

I wholeheartedly believe that you should never have to give up anything that you love. But moderation is key.

I'm a huge fan of rich, amber beers which have worked against me in weight loss. And now that it's summer, my social circle wants to spend every weekend on the patio or in a beer garden.

The way I try to offset the calories of beer is to eat lightly. Beer usually fills me up, so I have a spinach salad or roasted veggies and a light protein when beer is involved.
