mgrill's Journal, 29 October 2014

Bonus: Morning heart rate has dropped AGAIN, too. Down 17 bpm since February! That's amazing!

I've been quiet in writing my journals and commenting on buddies, but I have been reading and gaining inspiration from you all in your journeys.

Got on the pull-up bar again the other day. When I do pull-ups in my workouts, I tend to do more of a kipping pull-up so that I can keep up with the reps. So the other day, I was curious how I'm doing on dead hang pull-ups...surprised myself when I maxed out a 7! Gonna try some towel pull-up variations next :-)

The zombie 5K run with my 10 year-old nephew went great this past weekend. He's a great runner, and I hope he's inspired to stick with it. His 5K time was 37:10 and he took 3rd place in his age bracket. It was a great experience to go through with him. He got a bit of a side-stitch 2 miles in that I was able to teach him how to overcome, and we had to incorporate some walking-breaks, but he never complained.

Hubby is out of town for training this week. Single parenting these two rugrats has been busy, but the kids have been wonderful.

Boss came to see my yesterday. My supervisor is retiring in 6 mos. and he's given me the heads up that I'll be asked to replace her...he has no plan B. Lots to consider in light of my husband's possible promotion (and relocation) coming up next spring, too. I'm thinking I'll accept the offer. Still too much uncertainty with hubby's opportunity.

Keep moving toward your goals everyone. It's a never ending journey. Thanks for taking us with you along the way!

Awesome about the heartrate and promotion! When will you know for sure about hubby's job?

April? May? Not sure. But we think it's best that I make this decision as if his promotion weren't a factor.

I agree....you shouldn't miss out on something for the possibility of another if that makes sense

I agree too, take the promotion if offered. I was in that position a few years back and didn't take a promotion because of uncertainty with my hubby's job, and I always wish I would have taken it. Even if you do relocate and have to give up the job later it will look good on a resume, and you may as well enjoy the benefits of being a supervisor while you can. :) You inspire me every time you journal because of the inner strength and will power you have to keep going. Keep being awesome!!
