Good evening dear online friends,

A little note from me to confirm i am not dead, nor gone. Just a little busy. I am going to try out a new sport. something i never done before... goalie in soccer, or like we "normal" people on the original side of the pond like to say:

keeper in football.

If you want something you never had, you have to do things you never did.

I want the body of a top-athlete. So i have to train and work-out and have a goal like a top-athlete. There you go, my plan for the next three months.
I am planning to find out all i can about the game, the tactics, the purpose of keeper. And i am adjusting all my work-out schedules to support the muscles needed when season starts in September.

1 - jumping as high as any baseball player - translated into a goal: jump at least 5 cm higher then i can jump right now.
2 - kick the ball like Edwin van der Sar. - translated into a goal: kick the ball until halfway down the field.
3 - stop all balls from entering my goal - translated into a goal: practice stopping balls that my hubbie promised to kick to me, starting soft and building it to harder kicks.
4 - fly through the air while holding the ball that would have entered a corner of the goal - learn how to slide and drop. exercise to drop and get up as fast as i can.
5 - stop balls the opponent didn't even think of shooting yet - learn to approach the opponent and drop in front of their feet (my son promised to help me with that)
6 - have fun! win! - eh ...

they won't know what keeper they got next year!!! i have the drive to impress!!! I like having a new goal in life, i bore easily!

all have a lovely vacation these nex 3 months, and think of me working-out!

love maud.

Know what you mean by easily bored, but it sounds like you've set yourself a real fun challenge. Looking forward to updates on how it goes. Sure you'll come up with some good anecdotes from this.

Football? Europe is so mixed up. Anyway. I always thought they were the target. At least, I always kept hitting them. Wasn't my sport. Now ping pong....

not exactly 3 months vacation... kid has 6 weeks break from school, in 4 weeks and i am taking it easy until the end of his holliday... with a home business you never have a real break... after kid goes to school i need a cool-down period of two weeks to get back in the groove of normal life!

ping pong. Okay, I'll be the goalie for that.

I agree, Kat. I 'may' be able to throw my body in front of a ball that weighs as much as a ping pong ball. I rocked at ping pong. Only semester I ever got an A in Phys Ed. (My wife won't play me. :( )

You astound me! Being the keeper is not for the faint of heart. Great goals, glad your husband is helping. Let us know how it goes :-)
