Ms Elizabeth's Journal, 06 May 2014

I'm boring. I think I've come here every day for a week and read everyone's updates without commenting then looked at the blank "Record a Journal Entry" page and had nothing. Nada. Zip. Maybe the job, farm, pregnancy, toddler thing is sucking out all of my brain cells... I did attempt to find eggs in the freezer this morning. Luckily they weren't in there. It's probably only a matter of time before I find them in there though. At least I can claim to be entertaining. Hubby and 10 yr old think I've lost it and apparently that's fun to watch. Who am I kidding.. I'd be laughing too if I knew what was going on.

I haven't made it to the gym in almost 2 weeks but that changes today. I have my gym bag all packed and ready. Hopefully I remembered pants. I have been keeping busy though. We added on a few more cows in the barn, it's time to repair all the equipment to get ready for planting, cleaning out the hay loft to get ready for this years hay, time to paint the barn.. again, clean everything up from the winter, fix fence, get the gardens ready,... there's more. I just can't think of what they are right now because it's been 10 minutes and I have to pee again. :)

Advice.. never marry a farmer and get pregnant with a due date in August. Good news is if I can survive the spring prep, planting, a toddler, work, milking cows and manage to not curl up into a ball in the corner sucking my thumb well then.. I can do anything. I should wear a cape. I think I can pull it off without anyone saying anything at this point. I think I have them all scared I'll snap and start crying or put eggs in the freezer.

Thanks for the chuckle. Humor is a good thing. A friend of mine owns and runs a dairy farm, nothing boring about that, there's always lots to do. :)

I need a nap after your list! I married a fan boy...much more lazy of a life! How is your hubby's eating habits going? Any changes?

I've been MISSING you!! How's your husband and the diagnosis coming along? Is he in it to win it with you? Pregnance brain is normal. I kept locking my keys in the car...A couple of times a week!!!!!

You are amazing for all you do, even if you think the eggs are in the freezer!

Oh my goodness...you SHOULD wear a cape! That's so funny...my oldest has a toddler and one on the way...due mid September. They just moved to Wisconsin near my son in laws family...some little town I've never even heard of and she says her closest neighbors are cows! He isn't a farmer though lol. At least you have everyone on their toes..

You are far from boring - you have a great wit and sense of humor and I love reading your posts.

Me too, Dairy, I think you're so witty and funny. I look forward to your posts and missed them when I didn't see you around!

Hubby is doing great. At least he was..until yesterday.. The doctors upped his blood sugar meds and he recently discovered he could have a soda and it would stay under 90. So.. he bought a 6 pack and a package of cookies. Little man and I are helping him through the cookies. I'm hoping the farm hand will help him with his soda. Luckily as soon as the weather brakes the hubby will be in a field or in a barn milking cows and he's going to be so busy that he's just going to have to eat and drink whatever I decide to bring him. :) I wonder if anyones ever gotten divorced over carrot sticks before.

Great news, Dairy. (BTW -- I came close to divorce when I served my husband tofu after his diagnosis...LOL...he looked so sad and begrudgingly at that plate)!

You are amazing! A farmer never would have married me because I'm too lazy. I couldn't do all that you do and raise kids and have a job, I'd cry. Even if you think the eggs are in the freezer you are doing much better than I would! Good luck!!

I am so glad I no longer work on a dairy farm. I grew up working on one.

I moved the icecream I had previously put in the dishwasher into the pantry. LB kept watching me, shaking his head. Its 26 years ago that I was pregnant. So I think you got absolutely nothing to worry about :)

I guess it's not really surprising that I'd like tofu, for those that are wary of it I'd suggest making General Tso's tofu (though that potentially takes away from the more healthful aspect of tofu- you can cut down the sugar, cornstarch and oil a bunch and still have a tasty dish, yet in the end it's still fried). DFW, I'm glad your hubby is doing better for the most part and that you are being such a good support to him. I enjoy your humorous reflections too. Take care!
