Ruhu's Journal, 30 April 2014

Day 2 NSNGng went well & onto day 3:). I've been thinking this morning about if there is anything else I can bring from the ease of my weekday routines to my weekends to make them easier. I already go for a morning workout & have started meditating on weekends too. Just a random thought that entered my scattered mind this morning & has me wondering.

Did I tell you that I leave again on Tues? I'm getting so excited as we're going to DS's college graduation! I fly out to Nashville on Tues to help him pack & ship, DH & MIL join us on Thurs and commencement is Fri. Then, DH & MIL drive to SIL in Atlanta for her son's first communion, and DS & I drive his car home via Cincinnati and a surprise Mothers Day visit with my Mom. After I finish my book work & some much needed housework this afterwork, I'll start looking in the closet for what I'll need to pack for all the various activities & events while I'm away.

But now I must get to my workout, of course not without starting my day in prayer --

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

And I'll pray, breathe, log, journal & express my way throughout this one day and each one meal, moment, bite, thought & emotion. I'm so very grateful for each of wonderful you, my family & IRL friends, hot bulletproof coffee on this chilly and gloomy and rainy day, and having the health & wealth to live this life I love! xoxox

My goodness, you must get terrific air miles, you globe trotter you :) even though it is all within the US. No wonder you are excited, one son finished school, that will be great, and to have him back home for a while? You will be in heaven. Good idea to think about what you can take from your easy week days into your week-ends. The urge to snack or eat sweets when stressed is very difficult to stop. The urge is just so strong. If you figure out something let those of us who also suffer from that problem, let us know so we can try. I had the urge to eat last night, not necessarily sweets but just to eat away my dissatisfaction. I had an open bottle of water nearby and drank that and found I was actually thirsty, so that worked for me. But the whole time I was thinking "what can I eat, what can I eat" Ridiculous because I wasn't hungry, not in any way. I didn't give in - yeah.

I'm gonna have to call you Road Trip Ruth :-) Or Angel in Flight? I guess that has a nicer ring. This is going to be such a wonderful opportunity for you to continue practicing and reinforcing all of the self love and self care skills you've accumulated the past year that I will be most excited to read the reviews afterward. Esp after reviewing the recent 'emotional' chapter of EWYL. I'd like to offer one other way of looking at things... if weekends were just like weekdays, how would you know the difference or be able to appreciate them? So maybe it's not that the weekends are so challenging... it's just a blessing that the weekdays flow so well?

That is awesome news, your a world traveler. I for one am envious of you. I can only imagine how excited you are. I hear that Nashville is a beautiful place. Take in the sites and take lots of pictures if you have time, but most of all enjoy yourself.
