DairyKing's Journal, 04 April 2014

Good Afternoon, FS Warriors! I've tried to get on here and update my journal all morning. I keep getting interrupted by stupid things like work. I did get up and run this morning. It was a pretty uneventful workout. I am noticing that I am running farther and farther and my heart rate is actually lower at the end of my workout now, than it was at the beginning of my workout when I first started this journey. Heart Rate is the best indicator of improved fitness that I know of, and I can't recommend strongly enough that anyone who doesn't have a heart rate monitor, get one. You don't have to get an expensive one; there are pretty cheap ones out there, with pretty good reviews. I think my breakthrough weight loss for this week was Tuesday or Wednesday, and no weight gain this morning despite the fact that I went out with a vendor for lunch yesterday to a pizza buffet. I know, bad bad boy! Put yesterday's lunch in the fridge and had it today. Ain't the first time it's happened, and probably isn't going to be the last time. Pizza is my nemesis, and even though I can't say that I was very discipline yesterday, I'm already back on track and doing well. Besides, there is an all-you-can-eat sausage, french toast, and pancakes breakfast at the Optimist Club in the morning. :D

Well, got to get back to work. Duty calls. Everyone have a great and wonderful weekend. Toodles!

You're much stronger than I am I believe. I try not to ever put too much temptation in front of me and although you do this to yourself you are just as willing to get up early and run and work out with Jillian and that to me is impressive. Keep giving yourself that motivational talks at 4:30 am. Have a great evening.

I'm optimistic you'll choose wisely at the all you can eat buffet :-) It's odd, *I* almost ordered pizza today after my emotional ordeal this morning ... I've been thinking about what you wrote on my journal and the thing is short of a sledge hammer I'd never know if someone WAS hitting on me .. I'm just that dense. Anyway - one of my customers had lost a lot of weight on a prepackaged diet and made a big point of X-day was his BD and he'd celebrate with a pizza... and while I know that ONE pizza didn't do it.. he's regained all of the lost weight and then some in the past year. So I just said to myself 'B - go get something a little more nutritious today ... do the pizza another day when it's out of craving and not emotions...' I'm lost .. what were we talking about?

Haha, Bella! Yeah, guys usually have an ulterior motive for striking up a conversation; I doubt if he was really interested in your dog. Yes, so many stories of people losing big and gaining it all back. That's why it has to be a lifestyle change. But there are extremes on both fronts: it can't be a lifestyle change of deprivation, unless of course you are moving to a monastery, and it can't be one of indulgence, alternating with fasting to make up for it, on the other hand. I say "moderation" but whatever works for you, stick with it. I don't think anyone can truly be successful at this for life without exercise either.

Wow! Tamptations to the right of us, temptations to the left, yet we march onward in our battle toward victory in our weight loss goals! I'm with y'all on finding that "middle ground" between deprivation & indulgence, it's just that I haven't seen my feet in so long, that "middle ground" can be hard to find, LOL! JK. That is great news about your heart rate. You're doing something right, so keep it up.
