mars2kids's Journal, 26 March 2014

I'm dragging today. I woke up with a headache and sore throat, but I'm going to power through the day. I have to work longer today too, yuck. Oh well, I'll make it through and be fine, I just need to stop whining.

The trip meeting went well last night. It is not cheap, of course, but doable. When I got home I told my daughter that she is going to have to work to earn this trip. Whenever there are fundraisers she's going to participate and sell her butt off. :) She was okay with that.

I ended up in the chocolate chips last night. Why do I do that? The night before was Cheetos. Tonight, none of it. It's so much easier when my hubby is home in the evening. I just have to figure out how to get rid of those cravings. I drink my water and I'll have a good snack, but I guess I just have to resist the cravings until they aren't nagging me.

Yesterday was a rest day, so today I'll have to get a workout in. I'm going to do a short one because of getting off work late. I was going to run, but it's supposed to be super windy, so no running. Being plugged up already I don't need to put my sinuses through that. But the weather will be nice this weekend so at least one of those days I'll get out there.

Middle of the week, and getting closer to the weekend!! Have a great Wednesday!!

What is your daughter's trip for? Good luck with snacks...I think we all get those cravings and sometimes it's better to give in but in moderation. That's where the real test comes in. Good luck!

Aggie- The trip is just for 7th & 8th Graders as a learning experience. They're going to Washington DC June 2015. Unfortunately, no parent chaperones. :)

I would help you with the night snacking, but I struggle with it too! I just started planning a fiber one brownie into my points every night. It seems to be working; however, last night I actually had chocolate ice cream for dinner so didn't blow it, but it wasn't that healthy. Feel better, you just had a few chocolate chips! Lol!

Those school trips are awesome! I bet you daughter must be super excited, she'll make sure she earns it :) I read you do quite a bit of sports, this is amazing; I wish I was that strong to be sporty... And regarding the cravings, I also can't help much. I struggle with them almost every day! Most days I'm strong enough, but only because I tell myself 'be strong today, you'll have the snack tomorrow' and I keep it like that for a couple of days. Every 4 or 5 days I cannot resist it and I have some snacks - either chocolate or cheetos. I just make sure to weigh them and to have a small (but fair) portion. If you can avoid eating junk food, better do it. But if you are really struggling so much, perhaps you can eat a small portion?
