Yolanda9179's Journal, 10 February 2014

I just spent almost a half an hour moving things around in my food diary to make a concha fit in lol. For those of you who don't know a concha is a Mexican baked sweet bread. I saw some at the grocery store and had to buy them. My dad used to buy them for me all the time when I was a little girl, (my tia (aunt) sold them) so it's like a taste of childhood for me. She has since moved to Texas with the majority of that side of my family, so these are now a rarity. So I had one, it was delicious, and I made it fit into my intake. (sorta like cinderella's step-sisters trying to squeeze into that glass slipper) lol

Ate too much everything at my grandmas yesterday. It was delicious though, and that cake I made... I need to stop making yummy cakes lol. It got completely eaten up, so its a clean slate for this week. Hoping I can make It to One-derland Friday... only time will tell!

Lots of great feedback from my family the last couple weeks. My aunt told me I look even thinner than I did at Christmas. I was able to brag that I've lost nine pounds this year, which is a pretty good rate for a girl who wasn't giving it all that much effort. My other aunt and grandmother also both commented on how good I'm looking. I can see it too, but it doesn't click with my brain. As soon as my eyes leave the mirror any changes are forgotten.

So I'm off to the gym today, my buddy already cancelled. There's a shocker, haven't seen her at the gym in like a month. I might go ahead and do a 5K on the treadmill, walk/speed walk combo, just to get a baseline time to work on. Got to get going on that, sooner rather than later. Speaking of getting going... I could sit her and chat with you ALL day, but alas, laundry is calling my name.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

I look forward to reading your journals because you truly inspire me to keep working on myself. Isn't it kind of weird that your "buddy" never seems to make it to the gym? I find it telling that maybe this person just isn't a competitive spirit. My daughter is a work out everyday creature but I can't seem to get her to want to go to the Y with me. I suppose it doesn't matter because when I'm ready to go I really don't want to wait around for the dragging your feet stuff. Have a great day Yolanda.

She definitely uses every excuse she can to get out of working out, which is fine with me. She asked me to help her tone up, and I'm more than willing but I can't lose the weight for her. I used to feel guilty bragging about my small losses from week to week but now I don't even care because she should have been there beside me if she wanted to lose lol. When you go alone you don't have to conform to anyone else's schedule or workout preferences, and I kind of prefer it that way. We inspire each other Bea, as I also look forward to your journals. :-)

I wish I had you here to get me to the gym! I do at home workouts, but still even then it would be nice to have someone to workout with and keep me accountable. Your buddy dosen't know what they're missing! You look great! On the days like today that I'm feeling kind of frumpy, reading your journals is a pick me up, so I'm glad you're here!! :)

good picture! I think you must be my youngest's mother...because she doesn't match socks either! She even had me buy socks that don't match so she could have them and not worry about matching! You are looking awesome! No wonder your family was commenting!!! Keep it up!

Thank you K! As a teeny bobber I was very much the "refuse to conform to societal standards" type. As a mature responsible adult my mismatched neon socks are whats left of my rebellion. Besides, no matter how serious things get my feet are always ready to party :-)
