I am married, almost 20 years, with 2 kids (son age 15 and daughter age 11). I work full time in advertising/marketing in Southern California. I have had a lifetime struggle with weight, seriously, since about age 7 or 8. I'm so tired of the battle and feeling like I'm missing so much of life that's out there. My 2013 goal was to reach and exceed my lowest weight as an adult that I can remember (235 lbs., which was 20 years ago).
I met and exceeded my 2013 goal by losing 50 lbs. by mid November. I also conquered my high blood pressure and my doctor took me off medication in September 2013 that I had been on for over 11 years. I was able to buy a pair of jeans in size 16 which I haven't worn since the early 90's when I met my husband. I felt like 2013 was the year of finding ME, like I'd been a big slab of unshapely marble and now I'm sculpting out the me that I am supposed to be. Healthy eating and exercise has done wonders for me so far, and I can't wait to see how much healthier I can be in 2014!
I am starting 2014 with a post-holiday slight gain and a weight of 225. My big goal for 2014 is to reach 200 pounds by June 22. That is the day my family leaves for a 2-week Hawaii vacation and also the month of my 20th wedding anniversary. I don't tan since I'm fair-skinned, freckled, blonde, and blue-eyed, but I want to wear cute little Hawaiian sundresses on this trip, and a bathing suit that doesn't make me look like a grandma. That will be my reward.
