I'm married, just celebrated 20 years, with 2 kids (son age 15 and daughter age 12). I work full time in advertising/marketing in Southern California. I have had a lifetime struggle with weight, seriously, since about age 7 or 8. I'm so tired of the battle and feeling like I'm missing so much of life that's out there. My 2013 goal was to reach and exceed my lowest weight as an adult that I can remember (235 lbs., which was 20 years ago).

I met and exceeded my 2013 goal by losing 50 lbs. by mid November. I also conquered my high blood pressure and my doctor took me off medication in September 2013 that I had been on for over 11 years. I was able to buy a pair of jeans in size 16 which I haven't worn since the early 90's when I met my husband. I felt like 2013 was the year of finding ME, like I'd been a big slab of unshapely marble and now I'm sculpting out the me that I am supposed to be. Healthy eating and exercise has done wonders for me so far, and I can't wait to see how much healthier I can be in 2014!

Update: It's mid 2014 and I have not had too much success this year and even some gains, but I keep trying by getting back on track. Hoping to finish the year out stronger than it started!

HATE THE NEW APP!
I updated the app on my iPhone and it's working fine. Are you unfamiliar with the new app layout and don't know where to add a new food, or you tried it in the right place and it won't add to your daily food intake?

I only had one issue last night where I couldn't delete a food I added right away, but an hour later I was able to. Could have been an internet connection issue.

Hello! New to Fatsecret. :)
I love your profile name! I also love your willingness and courage to share your story and reach out for support. That is a huge step in the right direction to a healthier lifestyle. I've been on and off on FS for 4 years and I find that if I stick around and use the food tracker to the best of my ability, even adding in food that puts me way over my limit, I do well. The act of tracking it and being accountable for it makes all the difference in the world. When I overindulge several days in a row, don't track, feel guilty and stay away from FS, that's when I continuously gain weight back. I've lost 50 lbs. using this tool and have regained 16 of them over the past 8 months. I know coming back here will get me back on track. The accountability with the tracker is key, but most of all, the support from others in all stages of their health journeys is comforting and inspiring. Good luck to you, Butterfly!

Hello, Not exactly new
Good for you and welcome to your supportive community! Thanks for solidifying my decision to not switch to My Fitness Pal. I considered switching since it synchs up with my BodyMedia Arm Band, but I'll just stay here and enter in my calories burned from my BMAB manually.
