Good Morning Sunshine! Yup, that's you! I havent seen the sun in what feels like years, lol spring where art thou?! Anywho, Im pretty sore this morning. I challenged myself to a 5k on the treadmill yesterday and I completed it. I speed walked at 3.5mph, trying to take a different approach at teaching my legs to run. 3.5 is faster than you would think. Im afraid of treamills, so that was a big feat for me. Nobody wants to be the doofus at the gym that goes flying off a moving treadmill lol. So my time was 54:30 for my first 5k. From here on out I will be actively working towards lowering that time to something more acceptable. I followed up the speed walk with twenty minutes on the elliptical to give my heart a good jolt. I think I will 5k twice a week.

So I shared my new profile pic here on FB as well and got a lot of support plus a few 'whats your secret?'s. I wish I had one! I eat, I drink, I exercise thats my secret. Which reminds me, I was thinking about my lovely SIL the other day when her sorry "hatin" ass didnt like my new picture (lmao) and starvation is always her go to diet. I had an epiphany! Why on gods green earth do fat people think they need to starve to lose weight. (No offense, I did my fair share of it) If you are overweight you are not good at being hungry, if you were you probably wouldnt be overweight, so dont put yourself in a position to fail. Play your strengths, and realize that hunger isnt one of them. I try my hardest to never land myself in a super hungry situation, hunger is my kryptonite.

Speaking of hunger I really must go set up my food list for the day, I hope you all have a great day!!

At least you did the 5K, no matter how long it took, you got it done. Good for you! I'm going to start doing the 5K think again as soon as it starts warming up and I can do it outside. It's a little to slippery and cold right now, but they are talking possibly 50's next week, so that would be good 5K weather. Your epiphany sounds spot on to me! I am here because I don't know how to handle hungy, angry, happy, sad, or any other emotion and my eating can get out of hand, but I know that if I keep myself accountable and learn to eat better foods I'll do better than if I don't eat at all. Great point!!

This winter has been BRUTAL, hasn't it? I was thinking about you and your 5K'ing while I was out walking last night, I might try to do one this spring- thanks for the inspiration! :)

Thank you Mars :-) I always tried to just quit eating to lose weight, hell my mom supported that method as she didnt know any better. It was kind of a shock to me that I could eat AND lose, and its equally a shock to people around me that often see me eat and know how much ive lost. Funny how little people know about how to lose weight, or where theyre going wrong.

Yolanda, I also love your new picture! You are looking great! I am glad you are overcoming your fear of treadmills and did a 5k. Your speed will improve over time... But wow! look at how long you worked out... It was almost 1hr 15minutes. Thats awesome!!!! Ps.... You are a pretty brisk walker on the treadmill. I can NOT walk on a treadmill at 3.5. That is the speed where I have to either turn it into a jog or I will fall over ;). Keep up the great work outs!

It was a little awkward Jess lol, I wont lie about that! But FS claims that jogging doesnt start until you hit 5mph... yikes!! And I always work out for about an hour fifteen to an hour thirty as thats the time I have alloted in my day for yhe gym and I try to make the most of every minute. I worked up to that time though, wasnt always a marathon workout lol. Thank you much for the support!!!

You know, you're right ... I ignored Sunshine on Saturday ... had my back to it's fleeting appearance... won't let that happen again anytime soon. Have a great day, my friend.
