Another day of opportunity & from the advice of my health coach what I'm thinking of as Transition Sunday. The weekends in general can prove more of a challenge than weekdays for me, but I've especially been in the habit of overeating/binging on Sunday nights. This is a long standing habit which grew over time as in my past way of thinking I'd "be good" during the week so I could "cheat" on the weekends. Knowing Monday was just around the corner, all hell could break loose on Sunday night. On my current journey, I'm trying to even out my eating but doing so mindfully knowing that we eat out more on the weekends as well as eat together as a couple or family vs me eating alone most weekday nights and therefore being able to choose foods that I know the ingredients of, how they ere prepared, etc. My opportunity today is to start to build a new healthier habit of beginning my transition to the week on Sunday, again using mindfulness.

Yesterday was a good, quiet day. After my workout & errands, I got deep into the long overdue filing, went to mass & watched "The Butler" last night. (It's a great movie if you haven't seen it.) There were moments of boredom/frustration as I was filing & that sweet craving after dinner alone (DH off skiing & DS with girlfriend), but I was able to pause & work through them. I may have eaten a bit past "just right" fullness at dinner, but a few extra brussels sprouts and berries does not a "detour" make! Today, I'm off to an early workout - spinning & weights after - then DS & I are taking MIL out to lunch. I'll run up to work for a few hours & home for a relaxing Sunday night watching the Olympics & reading, again in transition to the new week ahead.

So, I'll begin my transition day of opportunity in prayer --

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

And on this one day & through each one meal, moment, bite, thought & emotion, I'll pray, breathe, log, journal & express my way. I'm so grateful for each of Fabulous you, my family & IRL friends, a Sunday to think of as an opportunity to build new healthier & more mindful habits and a transition to the week, and the health & wealth to live this life I love! xoxox

Great new attitude about Sunday Nights! Why start off at a disadvantage on Monday morning?

Way to go to get through your sweet craving last night AND git filing done. Such a boring task no wonder you craved a treat. You will conquer Sunday too I am sure as your plan sounds solid. Have an excellent day with your family. Xxx

Thanks for the movie recommendation. Sounds like you did great. I know what you mean though. Eating out can kill you..lol We go away so much it is really hard to order and to know what is really in everything. When we were in Wisconsin I ordered eggs and they were swimming in butter. The next day I asked for no butter and they still had it. I asked them to remake them and they did but also told me that was the way people liked them. Unreal and you know what they taste so much better without it. Sorry for the ramble. Have a great Sunday!

Ahhh ... filing :-) I applaud you as it is far down on my list of things I like to do and thinking about it just now that was when I would find myself wandering over in the cube corral to see who had candy on their desks... interesting. Will check out the movie - sounds good and you sound fabulous. Enjoy your Transition Sunday :-)
