Can anyone explain to me why my dreams recently have been so real that I feel like it is actually happening? Last night it was that I was climbing to some high place (I am afraid of heights) and had convinced myself I could do this because I am almost 50 lbs lighter. Well as I got to the top the person in front of me could not get over the railing we needed to for safety. Because that person was taking so long I ended up losing strength in my arms. I woke in a sweat and felt like I was falling! Two nights ago I woke as I felt like I was falling like I do when cross country skiing...it felt like I crashed into my bed from standing position. This is really weird. I have never dreamed like this before where it feels soooo real!

Fish oil

What do you mean Shannon? Do I need to take fish oil? or too much...I recently ate fish...which I don't do much. Did the fish make my dreams more real?

Lol. I just googled "Fish Oil Dreams". Seems people have been reporting more lucid and realistic dreams while taking this supplement. According to this site: http://www.world-of-lucid-dreaming.com/does-fish-oil-induce-lucid-dreams.html the effect only lasts the first few months. "Many people who start on a 900 mg dosage of Omega 3 fats report far more intense dreams..." "...People who take fish oil capsules in the long term say that the effect of vivid dreaming dies away after a few weeks or months, so this is really a short term experiment in dream intensity." I myself almost always have lucid dreaming, without taking any supplement or anything. Though from my mom's experience, certain medicines can effect it as well, such as Chantix (for quitting smoking). Whatever the case may be, it's not necessarily a bad thing. Lucid dreams can be good too! Hope you sleep well this night.

Maybe those late night panic sessions are burning mad calories lol. We can only hope, right?

Well I don't take any supplements. I only take blood pressure meds and I have been doing that for years. I did eat fish on Thursday night. I would have guessed that this would have been out of my system by now...maybe with the lower weight my bp meds need to be adjusted? I will have to monitor my bp for the next little while and see if that is causing the dreams.

Yo I hope it is burning mad calories...cause I definitely am panicking when it happens. My poor hubby. If I am startling myself awake imagine the poor guy next to me!

I take fish oil and can't attribute my weird dreams to that (I don't think). It could be other medicine. And I want to get on Yolanda's Burn-Calories-While-You-Sleep plan. :)

Fish oil gives me technicolor dreams even better than real life. My son died in my dream a few weeks ago, and I still recall every detail of that dream. For days, I couldnt stop hugging him thankful he was alive! Fish oil is known to be great for vivid, crazy dreams.

I can tell you fish oil can definitely effect your dreams. For those who suffer from major mental illness and can't afford to get prescriptions, the psychiatrists will tell them to take fish oil supplements. It effects the chemicals in the brain similar to anti-psychotic drugs and will cause very vivid, realistic dreams. If taking to much at a time, it can also cause your body to feel like it is vibrating while awake. I know that from experience when I mistakenly took a double dose within an hour. My body felt like it was an a jet airplane and I could not only feel the vibrations but hear the 'engine noise' in my ears which lasted for a day. It has some powerful effects.

However, I do not take fish oil supplements...I only ate fish last Thursday night and it is still happening. I would have thought that the effects from ingesting on Thursday would be gone by now! If not...I will NEVER take a fish oil supplement. Those are some scary dreams that I don't want to experience. Makes no sense that it is used as an anti psychotic...but yet causes vivid psychotic type dreams...NO THANK YOU!

Today I am starting the Dr. Oz 3 day detox. I weight in and 160 is still my weight. Now I will do my exercises for the next hour.

I like taking fish oil supplements and no side effects as many of you have experienced. Go figure...
