Annabelle3117's Journal, 09 January 2014

A couple big announcements this morning, big for me that is lol. First and foremost, my legs are not sore!! I did my first run Sunday and my legs were sore for about 48 hours. Completed my second run last night and nothing, a sure sign of progress. I do believe my second run was easier, not enjoyable, but easier lol. Lungs not quite so burny burn burn. Im getting there!

Secondly, i decided to be a little selfish and buy myself an official workout outfit for the first time ever yesterday. Yes, i have been working out in the same old baggy clothes I wore 78lbs ago. So I was looking through the althletic tees and noticed something insane... the 2x's looked way too big. This is huge for me because in the past i would always buy 2x thinking it would fit only for it to be too small. Yup, i still have some 3x shirts in my dresser. So I bought a regular xl fitted tee, and its perfect. Hallelujah! Then i needed some new workout capris, so I bought size 16/18. I honestly didnt know what size to buy, since ive not bought any new jeans. Crazy, I know. Well apparently I should have gone with 14/16, because the damn capris slid off my bum again while running lol. I cant stop running out of my pants! I wont complain about that. I just hiked them way up granny style and kept on chuggin.

So those are my two exciting tales. Not much going on today. One kid is in school, for that Im grateful lol. Today is an 'off' day for exercise. Going to let my muscles rest up a bit. I dont have a solid meal plan laid out for the day and that makes me a little anxious but I know ill figure something out. Hope you all have a great day!!

Wow - excitement abounds. Good for those legs of yours. I've been working on strengthening mind too, and it's amazing how they are able to get back in shape. I'm so excited for you. You will ace this 5k girl! Yippee for you. Just make sure for the big run you wear some suspenders LOL

SO Proud of you. it is funny how our perception of our body changes more slowly than our body does. I know mine has. I have been known to purchase 2 pairs of pants (2 diff sizes) just to figure out which ones fit. I have learned to get 2 sizes smaller than I think i will wear and often it is the smallest one that I really fit into. i still THINK I wear size 14 but actually am in 8's pretty often. I can't see myself in that size though... You have gotten yourself in great shape with that eliptical beast... my guess is that the running will come pretty fast for you. I am very happy to be living your experience virtually :)

lol I finally broke down right before Christmas and bought myself a three pack of underwear. 2 sizes smaller than what I had been wearing! I have bought two coats this fall/winter. One size smaller than I was wearing. I haven't bought any pants yet. Just wearing belts with my pants I had. I am down 3 holes from where I used to buckle the belt. There is an inch between the holes. So I must be down 3" on my waist. (you got me to finally measure between the holes). Yes for you! You get to get out of the old lady looking plus sizes and back into the age appropriate clothes for you! (it is ok for me to be in plus sizes...I am old!)

K.... no, I'm older then you and now refuse to wear the supposed age appropriate clothes. Went through the past several decades wearing fuddy clothes. I'm going to show it off. And so should you.

I agree with CR, you will be out of plus sizes very soon, flaunt it! I broke down and bought a coat due to the arctic blast, its now clear to me i could have went smaller as i instinctively grabbed an 18/20. Oh well, i knew i would need to replace it next fall anyway! Congrats to you on your 8's alex! Its true, in my mind im still bigger than I actually am, but my mind is comming around lol. Now, where can I buy some really hip suspenders... or is that an oxymoron? :-)

Guess I am too used to trying to hide everything behind baggy clothes! My 14 year old was pointing out jeans she wanted me to get before Christmas. She wanted me out of the "mom jeans". Hehehe But I am not ready for me in leggings...and neither is the world yet! Yikes...that is a scary thought! The rolls would still show!

K You'll get there and see how baggy your pants look, and that in turn will make you look fat. I got a pair of stretch skinny jeans and love them. The waist is higher then the ones you see on the teenyboppers, so very little hangs out. I admit to feeling like a sausage, (so used to baggies) but it's pretty cool.

CR: I try not to do anything age appropriate. I never signed up for this program.

Age appropriate does not happen in my closet. I will say - I have yet to try the leggings look. i want to but I can't get past seeing the ladies that look like elves. I am not sure what i would wear as a top. I have nice legs - that is a big deal for me to be able to think that much less say it - and don't have a problem with the skinny jeans but the leggings - I just don't know. I don't look good in the mans shirt with belt... boobs too big for that look - I just look slouchy... So what do you put as a top?? My friend and I may have to go shopping.... she has much better fashion sense than I do. What a nice thought :) Thanks guys for taking my mind to a good place :) you rock!

ok...after work my hubby had me run to a larger town to pick up chicken food. Soooo I gave myself a treat. I was shopping alone...so I went and tried on jeans (my current size 26 jeans are wearing out and I now had to use a belt with them). I found two (yes two!) stretch jeans (one with skinny straight legs)that I thought actually looked good on me. They were size 22! That is two sizes down from the last jeans I bought and almost 50 lbs ago. I will admit that I am excited~ Thanks for the suggestions all...I did not go Mom style this time! and I also got a sweater 2 sizes smaller...I could get used to this~

Alex...my skinny daughter puts a sweater dress over leggings. Then she belts the sweater dress. I got a longer sweater for my daughter that is a bit chunkier.

How dog K... exciting, isn't it? I got my first pair and couldn't try them on until after I bought them. Came running out of the ladies room yelling, "they're too big, they're too big". People thought I was nuts, but I didn't care. Just wanted to go get the next smaller size. They look good, don't they?
