Rise and shine, or at least rise I suppose lol. Today is a great day, leftover day. I'm excited about this because I usually don't get home from work until about 7pm. Upon arrival I have to make dinner, do the dishes, get the kids in bed, shower and then pass out, wake up, work a.m. shift, clean house, go to gym, go to work, come home, cook dinner .... I'm sure you get it lol. Tonight, everyone feeds themselves, and I get a break! Looks like that break will continue on to tomorrow night, as I promised my daughter pizza/ family movie night. I think we will watch Monsters University. Basking in the glory of no cooking for a couple nights!
The hubs birthday is on the 20th, and I've already got big plans. I'm going out Friday to buy him a very expensive something. He is my buddy on this here site, and may start snooping lol. I'm also planning on making him Authentic chicken tamales for dinner, and reeses peanut butter cup cheesecake. I've got my work cut out for me! Anybody who cooks authentic Mexican cuisine knows how labor intensive it is, and as half of my family was born is Mexico it doesn't get much more authentic than this! Looking forward to it nonetheless, I LOVE doing nice things for people, especially my DH ;-)
Speaking of all things deliciously sinful, I'm making pumpkin rolls this year for my friends and family. Of course, my own family included. I'm definitely going to go reduced fat on the cream cheese filling, but was wondering if anybody ever tried subbing a splenda product in place of some of the sugar? Just trying to make them less of a slap in the face to my healthier lifestyle. Any and all suggestions are welcome!
Alas, tomorrow Is weigh in day. Kind of feels like I'm walking the green mile lol! I am skipping the gym today, still pretty sore from the kettle bells, and my workout yesterday was like salt in the wound. The plan is to let those muscles heal, shed that water they're holding on to and having an excellent weigh in tomorrow. I have not weighed at all since last Friday, so I have no idea what to expect. Being at 221 I am DYING to see the teens. It could possibly be killing me. However, if I do not see at least 219 on the scale tomorrow...
I, Mrs. Yolanda somethingorother, solemnly swear to not pout, or partake in any type of self-pity. I will resist urges to bitch/moan/complain about how all of my hard work was for nothing. I will remember the following things:
* that my hard work has already paid off and is evident in all of my before/after pictures. * That I signed up for this program knowing that this is a life long process with highs and lows throughout the entire journey * That to be healthy was my primary goal, and that I am fitter and healthier than I've ever been * That Every single day that I choose to eat healthily and exercise my body is a significant win in the grand scheme of things. * That I'm already hotter than my evil sister in law, so she can kiss my ass * And most importantly, that there are people out there with problems much more significant that my own. I am healthy, my children are healthy, and I have no right to complain about jack shit ever.
I will be grateful for all that I am, and all that I have.
Have a great day everyone!!
